This course is aimed at insolvency practitioners, accountants including forensic accountants, lawyers, bankers, public sector employees and other professionals who use civil procedures to pursue the proceeds of fraud. SPEAKERS > Edward Drummond is an experienced commercial litigator and a qualifi ed Jersey advocate and has extensive experience of commercial litigation and contentious insolvency, acting for fi nancial institutions, insolvency offi ceholders, trustees and benefi ciaries, hedge funds, insurance companies (and insureds) and other entities, both onshore and offshore. > Ian Richardson is a dual (UK & Australian) qualifi ed insolvency practitioner who leads Grant Thornton s fraud insolvency division in the north. He specialises in using insolvency powers and forensic tools to investigate and recover the proceeds of fraud. Recent assignments include VAT (MTIC) frauds, tax avoidance, land banking, off plan overseas property developers and, unfortunately for the reputation of his own profession, fraudulent overcharging of fees by other insolvency practitioners. > Jeffrey Davidson specialises in litigation support, both commercial and criminal, dispute resolution, regulatory and other fi nancial investigations, fi nancial quantum and business and asset valuations. > Jonathan Calvert is editor of the insight investigations team at the Sunday Times and winner of multiple awards, most recently Journalist of the Year at the British Journalism Awards in December He has over 21 years experience in national newspaper journalism and has produced quite an astonishing track record of investigations and scoops across a huge range of subject areas. > Neil Smith served for ten years as a police offi cer in a major UK police force and spent time working as a counterfraud specialist for a government department. For the last 12 years, Neil has spent most of the time as a full time investigative researcher and teaches a variety of clients how to use the Internet as an investigative tool. > Michael Leeds is a director at Grant Thornton based in London and has over eight years experience in personal and corporate insolvency and asset tracing. Michael s experience is focused on investigations and recovering assets from UK and overseas jurisdictions. Michael is a qualifi ed accountant and licensed insolvency practitioner. > Rebecca McNulty is established in advisory and contentious practice advising high net worth individuals, businesses and trustees, often in the context of multi-party complex domestic and cross border commercial and trust disputes. Rebecca has considerable experience advising clients on managing risk and is co-author on the chapter on Jersey in the fourth edition of International Guide to Money Laundering Law and Practice, published by Bloomsbury Professional. > Richard Saunders joined Moon Beever in February 2003 and works in the insolvency and business recovery department with a growing reputation. He has considerable experience in a wide range of commercial litigation dealing in particular with fraud, contractual disputes, negligence and especially insolvency. > Sarah May is a solicitor at Moon Beever and specialises in insolvency and commercial litigation, mainly acting for insolvency practitioners. Her practice includes complex personal insolvency matters and recovery against directors and third parties. > Tim Penny has a strong commercial and chancery litigation practice, specialising in the areas of commercial fraud, shareholders and partnership disputes, fi nancial services related claims and breach of confi dence, soft intellectual property and sports disciplinary disputes.
