Commercial Lines: BOPs can be quoted through CAPS. SMP Quotes can be obtained using quick quote sheets or by submitting Acord application to CPIC. Quotations will be provided for all agents. Business will be written for first agent who submits an application and down payment. Fire Policies: Submit to CAPS for quote Comparative Raters: Vertafore PL Rating (Real Time) and EZLynx Inspections: CPIC will inspect most risks upon binding. Photos: Requested, but not required. We do appreciate when you attach them. Marketing strategy: Quality not Quantity Costimators: Will accept any recognized estimator as long as information submitted is correct and the costimator is current within 1 year. Forms: We use Underwriters Rating Board (URB) forms. Forms are all listed on our website. Claims: We prefer insureds contact the agency first. PERSONAL LINES Insurance Scoring: Chautauqua Patrons Insurance does NOT currently use insurance scoring. Prohibited Dogs: Akita, Doberman, Pit Bull, Staffordshire Terrier, Rottweiler, or any other dog with a history of biting or aggressive behavior and any mixed breeds of those listed. Trampolines: Are acceptable in all programs, however, we attach trampoline exclusion ML 52A (12/98) to all policies which excludes all liability and medical payments. (No signatures are required mandatory form). Inflation Guard: Currently set at 4% per year for both RC and ACV risks. Interior Wood Stoves/Furnaces: We define a woodstove/furnace as a unit used to provide heat to a structure. They generally have a cast iron, steel, porcelain, or soapstone exterior. Generally loaded with multiple logs and usually has a door with a latch to keep the heat contained within the firebox. Only Standard HO and Standard Seasonal HO are eligible. 10% surcharge per unit. CPIC will inspect all interior woodstoves/furnaces for proper installation. Supplemental Heating: Outdoor Wood Stoves, Fireplace Inserts, Pellet, Corn and Coal Stoves. Eligible for all programs except Premier Homeowner. Fireplaces are eligible for all programs. No additional charge. Swimming Pools: Diving Boards and Slides are generally acceptable if professionally installed. ID Theft 911 Coverage: Available on all P/L policies. Includes $10,000 identity fraud for $10. Home/Auto Discount: 6% Discount if CPIC writes the HO policy and the agency controls the auto. Mechanical & Electrical Breakdown: Available on all P/L policies (except FO) for $15 per policy. Underground Utility Line: Available on all P/L policies for $15 per policy. New Construction: Written as HO policies, as we do not offer a builder s risk program currently. 2
3 STANDARD HOMEOWNER Other Structures: May be excluded by CPIC if conditions warrant, using ML CP 2 (05/00) exclusion, that must be signed by the insured. Contains 1 or 2 families Must be written to at least 80 % ITV for RC or 50 % ITV for ACV. Doublewides on permanent foundation are eligible for HO program. Wood burning devices are permissible as primary or supplemental heat sources. A 10% surcharge per woodstove or wood furnace will apply. Structures with a wood stove(s) will be inspected. Please notify your insured that an interior inspection will occur. ML 10 Farm Liability is endorsed if there are 26 or more acres of land. Fuses are accepted in this program for 1 family risks only (ACV Only). No Knob and Tube wiring. Fireplaces are the only solid fuel burning devices permitted in any building on the property. ML 150B (01/02) Homeowners Plus Coverage ($25) $500 Refrigerated Food Products No Ded. $2,500 Added Water Damage (Sewer and Drain) Coverage Med Pay is increased by $1,000. Personal Liability increased by $100,000. Personal Liability is extended to include Personal Injury. Using the Comparable Value Homeowners Endorsement ML 16 (4/95), losses will be settled on a repair cost basis (i.e., the damaged property is repaired using generally accepted repair practices and materials in current usage). This option is available for use when the Coverage A limit is not lower than 30% of RC. Coverage A amounts of $50,000 to $300,000 Can be written with coverage form ML 1, ML 2, or ML 3. City and Suburban Rates Available $500 Minimum Deductible In order to qualify, homes must also meet minimum renovation requirements. They are as follows: Heating Renovated in the past 40 years. Must have central heat. Electric Renovated within the past 40 years. Must have circuit breakers with a minimum 100 amp service. Roof Replaced within past 20 years (Based on 30 year shingles). Contact U/W if other. Exterior Must be well maintained with no chipped or peeling paint. No asphalt / asbestos siding. 4
5 LANDLORD (UNDERWRITTEN BY COMMERCIAL LINES DEPARTMENT) ***All Landlord Policies must be equipped with Circuit Breakers*** FL 1, 2, or 3 is available RC or ACV Valuation. Insured or Property Manager must live within Continental US. No Swimming Pools or Wood Burning Devices allowed. No risks under renovation. Adjacent buildings that are vacant or unoccupied are a concern. Mechanical & Electrical Breakdown available Up to 5 Properties on a single policy 1 2 Family Should be new or renovated within the past 40 years for plumbing and heating. Should have annual lease. NO Space Heaters Must be well maintained with no chipped or peeling paint. No asphalt / asbestos siding. Sewer and Drain (Added Water Damages) available up to $10, Family Zone 2 Upstate Cities are eligible. Do allow for a 20% Credit if owner resides on premises for 3 4 family risks. Personal Injury and Personal Liability are available by endorsement. MOBILE HOMEOWNER Doublewides on continuous permanent foundation may qualify for HO policy. No mobile homes with wood burning devices New Home Buyer Credit Available (5% Credit) No mobile homes over 20 years of age CONDOMINIUM Uses a condominium specific agreement form, ML 20C, to provide coverage for the personal property of a condo owner. $5,000 of Coverage A is provided for the additions and improvements, alterations, built in components, fixtures and appliances of the condo, along with the related private structures solely owned by the insured. INLAND MARINE Can be written monoline (with 20% surcharge) with U/W approval. Eligible classes include boats, fine arts, livestock, etc. Jewelry cannot be written monoline. Appraisals required if value exceeds $5,000. No one item can exceed $25,000 in value. 5
6 MANUAL QUOTING The following programs will have to be quoted by the underwriting staff at CPIC using Acord Applications with Supplemental Applications, CPIC Applications, or Quick Quote Sheets: Dwelling Fire Farmowner Premier Farmowner Hobby Farm FARMOWNER Can have up to (5) Owned Horses. No horse boarding. Weight of Ice, Snow and Sleet can be endorsed via ML 323 (1/87) subject to 30 day waiting period and completion of inspection. Cost is $1.60/$1,000. Credits are available in this program. CPIC Farmowner Application found in the agent info area of website. PREMIER FARMOWNER ML 5 (6/91) Comprehensive Form Coverage for Primary Farm House 10% credit for Dairy of Distinction or above average risk CPIC Farmowner Application found in the agent info area of website. HOBBY FARM Designed for insureds with limited farm animals and/or operations. Primary source of income cannot be farming 100 Acres or less Income from farming must be less than $20,000. No Farm employees Generates a 15% credit from standard farm rates and 22% off Premier FO. 6

8 RESTAURANTS We write Restaurants in our BOP Program. (Premium is not based on sq. footage or receipts). Risk must have an Automatic Extinguishing System (wet or dry) Does not need to be UL 300. We allow risks with liquor receipts up to 50% of total sales. This is auditable. Liquor Legal Liability Coverage available LS 34 (1/88) up to $1 Million in coverage. Sales must not exceed 30%. Liquor liability of $1 million requires an alcohol awareness program such as TIPS. Delivery is okay however No Hired and Non Owned Coverage. No Late Night Entertainment, no Dance floors, no Hibachi or Table Side Cooking Catering should be less than 10% of total sales contact CPIC with details. LS CP 73 (11/89) Assault and Battery Exclusion attached to every policy with liquor sales. Apartments Maximum of 2 located in risk. Insured or Property Manager must live within 75 miles of the property location. NO Binding Authority at this time. ARTISAN/CONTRACTORS MUST have prior and continuous coverage. Max liability limit is $500,000 / $1,000,000 LS 6 coverage and endorsing Additional Insureds are not permitted. COMMERCIAL FIRE Submit Acords for quotes.
