1 To: PRESS RELEASE Date: July 9, 2018 Re: Arrest Blotter Arrestee: Tamela Boone, age 40, of 1287 Quinnipiac Avenue, New Haven, CT Charges: r(b) Failure to Respond to an Infraction On June 05, 2018, members of the Woodbridge Police Department responded to the area of Litchfield Tpke. and Downs Road for the report of an erratic driver. Upon checking the area, Officers located Tamela Boone who was operating her vehicle southbound on Litchfield Tpke. During the course of the Officer s investigation, it was determined that Boone had an outstanding criminal re-arrest warrant. Boone was taken into custody and charged with the above. After posting her $ court set bond, Boone was released with a court date of June 15, 2018 in New Haven Superior Court for arraignment. Arrestee: Iliana Ferrer, age 32, of 135 Ridge Avenue, Bridgeport, CT Charges: Throwing Objects at a Motor Vehicle and 53a-181 Breach of Peace On June 07, 2018, members of the Woodbridge Police Department served an active criminal arrest warrant for Iliana Ferrer, which stemmed from a May 2018 road-rage incident. Ferrer was charged with the above and was released on her Promise to Appear in New Haven Superior Court on June 18, 2018 for arraignment. Arrestee: John J. Baker, age 36, 273 Derby Avenue, Derby, CT Charges: Fugitive from Justice On June 13, 2018, members of the Woodbridge Police Department were conducting motor vehicle enforcement when John J. Baker of Derby, CT was observed operating his vehicle while using his cellphone. Upon conducting a traffic stop, it was learned that Baker had an outstanding criminal arrest warrant issued by the Westerly, RI Police Department. Upon confirming that the warrant was extraditable, Baker was arrested by the Woodbridge Police Department and charged with Fugitive from Justice. Baker was then transported to New Haven Superior Court on June 14, 2018 for arraignment. Arrestee: Danny Arias, age 30, of 17 Hawley Drive, Ansonia, CT Charges: (b)(3) Evading Responsibility and 53a-172 Failure to Appear 2 nd Degree On June 18, 2018, members of the Woodbridge Police Department served an active criminal arrest warrant for Danny Arias, which stemmed from a motor vehicle accident where he left the scene in February Arias was charged with the above and released on his Promise to Appear in New Haven Superior Court on June 27, 2018 for arraignment.

2 Arrestee: Ervin De Leon Mejia, age 19, of 159 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT Charges: 53a-173* Failure to Appear 2 nd Degree (2 counts) and (b)(3) Evading Responsibility On June 14, 2018, members of the Woodbridge Police Department responded to the area of Center and North Racebrook Roads for the report of a motor vehicle accident where the at fault vehicle fled from the scene. Upon conducting their investigation, it was determined that the offending vehicle was operated by the above, Ervin De Leon Mejia. During the course of the Officer s investigation, it was revealed that De Leon Mejia had two (2) outstanding criminal re-arrest warrants. De Leon Mejia was charged with the above and after posting his $1, bond was released with a court date of June 28, 2018 in New Haven Superior Court for arraignment. Arrestees: o Satin Tyson, age 34, of 15 Hubbell Avenue, Ansonia, CT o Jasmine Lewis, age 18, of 105 Wall Street, Waterbury, CT o Lacorya Smith, age 27, of 18 Fifth Street, Ansonia, CT o Savannah Cole, age 21, of 477 Beaver Street, Ansonia, CT o Joselyn Estrella Lopez, age 19, of 19 Hubbell Avenue, Ansonia, CT Charges: All five (5) were charged with 53a-135 Robbery 2 nd Degree, 53a-61 Assault 3 rd Degree, 53a-48/53a-61 Conspiracy to Commit Assault 3 rd Degree, and 53a-48/53a- 135 Conspiracy to Commit Robbery 2 nd Degree. On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at about 8:20 a.m., a Woodbridge resident walking on Litchfield Tpke. near Raymond Rd. was approached by five (5) females who were traveling in a motor vehicle southbound on Litchfield Tpke. Three (3) of the females in the vehicle exited the car, assaulted the Woodbridge resident, and stole her purse and personal items. The three (3) females then re-entered the vehicle and fled the area. The victim then contacted the Woodbridge Police Department and provided a description of the offenders and the getaway vehicle along with its displayed registration plate. Officers in the area located the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop, and took all five (5) females into custody without incident. Subsequently, the victim s property was recovered both in the vehicle and in the surrounding area. The five (5) arrestees are identified as follows: Satin Tyson, age 34, of 15 Hubbell Avenue, Ansonia, CT; Jasmine Lewis, age 18, of 105 Wall Street, Waterbury, CT; Lacorya Smith, age 27, of 18 Fifth Street, Ansonia, CT; Savannah Cole, age 21, of 477 Beaver Street, Ansonia, CT; and Joselyn Estrella Lopez, age 19, of 19 Hubbell Avenue, Ansonia, CT. All five (5) were charged with 53a-135 Robbery 2 nd Degree, 53a-61 Assault 3 rd Degree, 53a-48/53a- 61 Conspiracy to Commit Assault 3 rd Degree, and 53a-48/53a-135 Conspiracy to Commit Robbery 2 nd Degree. Cole was able to post her $20, bond and was released with a court date of June 28, 2018 in New Haven Superior Court for arraignment. Lewis, Lopez, and Smith were all released by the Bail Commissioner on their promise to appear in New Haven Superior Court on June 28, 2018 for their arraignments. Satin Tyson was unable to post her $10, bond and was transported to New Haven Superior Court on June 20, 2018 for arraignment.

3 Arrestee: Khalid Yawhuza, age 40, of 818 E 230 th Street, Bronx, NY Charges: 53a-124 Larceny 3 rd Degree, two (2) counts of 53a-138 Forgery 1 st Degree, 53a-167a Interfering with an Officer, 53a-127b Fraudulent Use of an ATM, and two (2) counts of 53a-49/53a-125 Criminal Attempt to Commit Larceny 4 th Degree On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at about 11:00 a.m., members of the Woodbridge Police Department responded to a local bank on Amity Road for the report of a suspicious customer. Bank staff provided dispatch with a description of the male and explained that the transactions he was making were suspicious. Responding Officers located the described male at the driveup ATM attempting to fraudulently withdrawal funds. The Officers investigation revealed that the male, Khalid Yawhuza, age, 40, of the Bronx, NY, was in possession of a fraudulent passport and illegally withdrew $7, from someone else s Citizens Bank Account. Yawhuza was arrested and charged with 53a-124 Larceny 3 rd Degree, two (2) counts of 53a- 138 Forgery 1 st Degree, 53a-167a Interfering with an Officer, 53a-127b Fraudulent Use of an ATM, and two (2) counts of 53a-49/53a-125 Criminal Attempt to Commit Larceny 4 th Degree. Yawhuza was able to post his $50, bond and was released with a court date of July 02, 2018 in New Haven Superior Court for arraignment. Arrestee: Leonard Flynn, age 58, of 224 Elm Street, West Haven, CT Charges: 21a-276a Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, 53a-103 Burglary 3 rd Degree, 53a-117 Criminal Mischief 3 rd Degree, 53a-109 Criminal Trespass 3 rd Degree, and 53a- 125b Larceny 6 th Degree On June 25, 2018, at about 10:30 a.m., Woodbridge Police responded to the area of Manila Avenue after a resident reported a suspicious male on a bicycle looking into residents yards. Upon checking the area, Officers located Leonard Flynn, age 57, of New Haven, CT, operating his bicycle on Bradley Road. Flynn matched the resident s description of the suspicious party and was found to have a vehicle battery attached to the rear of his bicycle. During the course of the Officers investigation, it was determined that Flynn had an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the West Haven Police Department. Prior to being transported by the investigating Officers, drug paraphernalia was located on Flynn s person. Before being turned over to the West Haven Police Department, Flynn was charged with 21a- 267 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and assigned a court date of July 06, 2018 in New Haven Superior Court for arraignment. Later, on June 25, 2018, a Woodbridge resident on Bradley Road reported that their vehicle was broken into and their vehicle s battery was stolen. The resident also had security camera footage capturing the incident. The footage showed Flynn entering the property where the battery was stolen. Flynn was additionally charged by the Woodbridge Police Department with 53a-103 Burglary 3 rd Degree, 53a-117 Criminal Mischief 3 rd Degree, 53a-109 Criminal Trespass 3 rd Degree, and 53a-125b Larceny 6 th Degree. He will be arraigned on all the charges on July 06, 2018 in New Haven Superior Court.

4 Arrestee: Kathryn Quiello, age 37, of 27 Manila Avenue, Woodbridge, CT Charges: 53a-173* Failure to Appear 2 nd Degree On June 28, 2018, members of the Woodbridge Police Department were conducting motor vehicle enforcement on Litchfield Tpke. when Kathryn Quiello was observed making a turn without her turn signal. Upon conducting a traffic stop, it was learned that Quiello had an outstanding criminal re-arrest warrant. Quiello was arrested and charged with the above. After posting her $ court set bond, Quiello was released and assigned a court date of July 12, 2018 in New Haven Superior Court for arraignment. Sergeant A.J.
