19 Freeport Harbor Channel Projects Freeport Harbor Channel Improvement Project Feasibility project signed January 2013 by Asst. Secretary of Army after $11 million and 11 year study approval to deepen channel to Congress approved the Water Resources Reform & Development Act and Port Freeport is 1 of 35 ports in North America designated as an authorized project Prior to initiating the deepening project, Port Freeport is working with the USACE to review navigational issues and other concerns from the 1985 U.S. project Navigational enhancement will benefit all channel users Market requirement will drive any future channel depth requirements

22 Port Freeport is a key supporter of the Coastal Conservation Association of Brazoria County. Since 2001, the Port has sponsored its Annual Take-A-Child Fishing Tournament. This year 308 anglers registered and 683 fish were weighed. Port Freeport has collected items to donate to Brazosport Cares Pantry every year and has raised over $110,000 through golf tournaments to benefit various organizations.
