2 Administration notes Purpose Get an overview of the employment law framework in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. Timings and registration Please report to reception on arrival. Registration will be open from 8:30am. Please aim to arrive at the venue by 8:50am at the latest to complete registration. The seminar will begin at 9am and finish at approximately 5pm on day one and 4:30pm on day two. Preparation Please complete the online pre-course questionnaire and return to us as soon as possible before the seminar commences. Lunch and refreshments Refreshments will be provided throughout the day, along with a buffet lunch. A vegetarian lunch option will be available but please let us know if you have any other special dietary requirements on your pre-course questionnaire. Smoking policy It is illegal to smoke anywhere within the venue premises. Access requirements and special facilities Delegates with any special requirements should contact Jade Wysocki on before the seminar. Dress code The dress code for this programme is smart/ casual. Messages Please note that it will not be possible to interrupt the seminar to pass on messages, and we remind you that all mobile phones should be switched off during the seminar. 3 Terms and conditions Payment Unless otherwise expressly agreed by Bond Solon Limited, payment either by cheque, BACS or credit card must be received within 14 days from the date of invoice, or five days before the event to which this invoice relates, whichever is earlier. Please make cheques payable to Bond Solon Limited. It is a condition of attendance that the event fee has been pre-paid. In the event of late payment we reserve our statutory right to interest at the rate of 8% above base under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act Cancellations, transfers, substitutions and refunds The above requests must all be made in writing. Cancellations The following charges apply if you cancel: 29+ days before an event = 20% of the event fee days before an event = 50% of the event fee 1-14 days before an event = 100% of the event fee Transfers Transfers made 15+ days prior to an event will be charged at 20% of the event fee Transfers made 1-14 days prior to an event will be charged at 50% of the event fee The transfer option only applies to delegates who are transferring to a different date for the same event Delegates must specify their choice of transfer date at the time of transfer The option to transfer can only be used once, after which non-attendance will be treated as a cancellation and all outstanding invoices will be due The original event invoice must be paid in full prior to a transfer invoice being issued If you would like to make a substitution, please call us on and we will be happy to help you. Attached is a tube map that you may find useful along with a street map. By underground The nearest underground stations are Aldgate and Aldgate East. A map can be found here. By air The Heathrow Express runs direct to London Paddington in just 15 minutes (20 minutes from Terminal 5), with a train every quarter of an hour. The Gatwick Express runs a similar service into London Victoria. Light rail services (DLR) run regularly from London City Airport. Accommodation We have not been allocated any special rates with nearby hotels for this event. 5 Speaker biographies Erik Wendelboe Christiansen Erik Wendelboe Christiansen is a partner at the law firm Horten in Copenhagen. Erik is an expert within all areas of employment law, particularly agreements for managing director and other executives, incentives and stock option programmes, loyalty obligations, collective bargaining agreements and public employment. Erik is a very experienced litigator for the Danish courts before which he has represented both private and public and national and international clients in various employment matters. Erik is a teacher with the Danish Association of Lawyers, DJØF (Danish Association of Lawyers and Economists), the Danish Bar and Law Society, Thomson and DLA Advance. Erik is co-author of the books: Non-Competition Agreements (Schultz, 1999), The Danish Act on Stock Options (Thomson, 2006) and Scandinavian Employment Law (Thomson, 2007). Erik speaks the Scandinavian languages, English and German. Jani Syrjänen Jani Syrjänen advises international and domestic clients in all employment law and pension & benefits related questions including also occupational safety, discrimination and immigration matters. Jani has extensive experience in litigating employment law matters; negotiating and drafting top management agreements, company policies and procedures; as well as advising employers confronting a wide range of employment law issues including, inter alia, outsourcing, reorganizations and redundancies. Jani is the co-head of the employment, pension & benefits team. He is also an accredited mediator of the Finnish Bar Association and a frequent speaker about employment law issues at domestic and foreign seminars. Jani become a partner at Attorneys at law Borenius on 1 January Dino Kalamujic Dino Kalamujic is a Senior Associate in DLA Piper s Employment group. He has extensive experience of matters relating to termination due to redundancy and personal reasons, dismissals, loyalty issues, organizational change and negotiations with trade unions. In addition, he has considerable experience of employment matters appertaining to merger and acquisitions and transfer of assets. Dino has been working with employment disputes in the Swedish Labour Court as well as in various Swedish District Courts. He regularly assists clients in drafting employment contracts for managing directors and key employees. Per Benonisen Per Benonisen is a partner at law firm DLA Piper in Oslo and is head of the firm s department of employment, pension and benefits. He specialises in all areas concerning employment particularly, larger downscalings, reorganisations, individual terminations, elaboration of employment contracts for employees and managers. Per has also acted as external examiner at the University of Oslo. He has worked as a specialist consultant for the work environmental department in Norway. For many years, Per has spoken at several international and national conferences on Scandinavian employment law. He is co-author of the book: Arbeidsret.no (Damn), En kommentar til norsk arbeidsret and Scandinavian Employment Law (Thomson). Per speaks the Scandinavian languages and English.
