1 2014 Study Mission to Hangzhou and Shanghai (15 19 April 2014) (HKSQ) is organizing a study mission to visit Hangzhou and Shanghai. The study mission will include several half-day seminars / sharing sessions at different Hangzhou / Shanghai institutions (e.g. Shanghai University) regarding current quality management development in China, technical visits to manufacturing organizations that will focus on their quality assurance practices and performance excellence. This study mission will provide delegates from Hong Kong organizations with opportunities to understand the best practices of high-performing manufacturing organizations in their pursuit of performance excellence. Tentative itinerary of the Study Mission is listed below: Dates: April 2014 (depart on 15 April, return to Hong Kong on 19 April) 1. Day 1 Travel to Hangzhou 2. Day 2 Technical visit to Marsh Engineering Hangzhou Corporation Limited (please refer to Appendix 2 for company information) 3. Day 3 Travel to Shanghai (via China High-speed Railway) and Sharing Sessions at Shanghai University 4. Day 4 Technical visit to C&C RFID Shanghai Co., Ltd. (please refer to Appendix 2 for company information) 5. Day 5 Travel back to Hong Kong Don t miss this opportunity. ACT NOW! Deadline for Application: 14 March 2014 Program Fee: a. HK$6,000 * for each non-member (please refer to Appendix 1 for details and the expenses covered by the registration fee) b. An attractive discounted fee of HK$3,000 * for each HKSQ member and one seat will be offered to each corporate member. c. A discounted fee of HK$4,500 * for one immediate family member of each HKSQ member. d. Payment of registration fee is non-refundable unless the application is unsuccessful. * The Program Fee listed above is based on double room occupancy shared with another participant. Notes for application: i. Maximum number of enrollment is 20. Places will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis. ii. Priority is given to HKSQ members and his/her immediate family members. A successfully registered HKSQ member could bring one of his/her immediate family members for this event with payment of the applicable fee.

2 iii. Those interested are requested to send with names and membership numbers, if applicable, to for preliminary registration. A confirmation will be sent to the applicants within 3 days. After receiving the confirmation , they are required to follow step iv to complete the registration procedure. iv. After receiving the confirmation , please complete the Registration Form. The filled form accompanied by a deposit of HKD1,000 for each applicant (in the form of a crossed cheque made payable to The Hong Kong Society for Quality Limited ) is to be mailed to HKSQ, P.O. Box 84375, Hunghom Bay Post Office, Kowloon on or before 14 March v. Successful applicants will be informed by on or before 18 March The balance must be settled by 31 March 2014; otherwise, the registration will be cancelled and the deposit will be forfeited. vi. HKSQ reserves the right to cancel the mission when there is insufficient demand; in such case, the registration fees paid will be returned to applicants. ix. 4 Appendix 1 Total Fee: HK$6,000, covering expenses listed below: 1. Round-trip air fare, economy class seats of Dragon Airlines Limited (Hong Kong to Hangzhou, Shanghai to Hong Kong) 2. 4-night hotel accommodation (double room with two beds, at 4-Star Hotel: Hangzhou SSAW Hotel Plaza / Penta Hotel / Grand Skylight Gardens Hotel, or similar) 3. Breakfasts at hotel and lunches 4. Train ticket from Hangzhou to Shanghai 5. 2 round-trips of land transport between airdrome and hotel in Hangzhou and Shanghai 6. 3 / 4-day land transport to companies and universities 7. Others: Airport taxes where levied, Hong Kong Security service tax, Gratuities to local guide(s) and driver(s). Notes Copy of each successfully registered participant s passport / travel document has to be provided to HKSQ; all personal information will be used for this event only. Participants are strongly advised to cover themselves with travel insurance. Participants are not recommended to change the flight tickets. Participants have the obligation to attend activities of this Study Mission (such as sharing session / technical visits) arranged by HKSQ. The language of this Study Mission is Cantonese / Mandarin. There are no formal dress requirements; however, smart casual attire is recommended. Meals and other expenses not mentioned above are not covered by the Program Fee. 10 participants can form a viable group.
