1 Neighbourhood Plan Survey We ALL have the chance to influence future development and YOUR opinion counts so please complete this Neighbourhood Plan Survey and return by 30 th April 2015 If you need help to complete this survey for any reason, we may be able to assist you, or if you need this survey in another format such as electronically or large print, please contact the Parish Clerk, Mr Bryn MacGregor on or Collection points for completed surveys are: Pimperne Shop, Church, Farquharson Arms or the Parish Clerk at 17 Manor Farm Close. If you would like us to collect your questionnaire please call the Parish Clerk. Prize Draw: One completed questionnaire per household member can be eligible for the prize draw, to have a chance of winning 50 1 st prize or 25 2 nd prize. Please see the form on page 6. Draw will take place on Saturday 4 th July 2015 at the Village Hall Coffee Morning.
2 Dear Pimperne resident, Your Parish Council is preparing a Neighbourhood Plan for Pimperne Parish (including Letton and Nutford). A map showing the Neighbourhood Plan Area is on page 7. The attached questionnaire will help us to determine the overall direction of our plan and so it is very important that you and your family take this opportunity to make your views known. What is a Neighbourhood Plan? A Neighbourhood Plan is a new way for local people to influence the planning and development of the area in which they live and work. It lasts for 15 years and should: Develop a shared vision for the Parish Choose where new homes and other developments may be built Influence the type of development Identify and protect important local green spaces or other treasured assets Once approved, our plan will have legal force in setting out what development is acceptable in our Parish and for what reasons. Local authority planners will have to take notice of it. Without a Neighbourhood Plan, we would have little control over any development that takes place. Our Neighbourhood Plan must comply with North Dorset s Local Plan and the government s wider policy of sustainable development. It will also help us to identify the facilities and services that need to be in place to meet the demands of our community. What to do next Please complete the survey as fully and thoughtfully as you can and return it to us BY 30 th APRIL. Details of the different ways you can return the survey are given on the front of this leaflet. If there are additional members of your household who would like to complete the survey separately, please encourage them to do so. They can either collect a hard copy from the Parish Clerk, Mr Bryn MacGregor at 17 Manor Farm Close or go to the Parish Council website ( to download a printable PDF. We would particularly encourage younger people to take part as often their views are not heard as loudly as perhaps they should be. How to get help or further information If you need help to complete or return the survey for any reason, please call the Parish Clerk on If you have any questions about the survey or the Neighbourhood Plan process, the Neighbourhood Plan team would be happy to talk to you. Contact the Parish Clerk. Thank you for taking the time to help us create Pimperne s Neighbourhood Plan. Pimperne Neighbourhood Planning Group 2
