2 Tier status model Do more, earn more Earning tier points is a key component of the Sanlam Reality programme. The more tier points you earn, the higher your tier status and the bigger your discounts on a number of benefits, including flights, accommodation, airport transfers and day-to-day savings. The Sanlam Reality tier status model has been designed to offer even more benefits and rewards to those members who want to earn tier points, become healthier and more financially fit. There are four categories in which members can earn tier points: Gold tier points: Single points: Family Silver tier points: Single : Family Bronze tier points: Single : Family Product and portfolio Earn points for holding financial products in the Sanlam Group and strategic partners. Earn up to: points Programme Earn points for registering, updating details, membership option changes and more. Earn up to: points Managing your risk Earn points for health and life events or safety and security events. Earn up to: points Online wealth Complete financial tools, calculators, quizzes and more. Earn up to: points At the end of each calendar year, the number of points you ve accumulated in that year will determine your tier status for the following year. 3 Understanding tier levels Tier activities All Sanlam Reality members (excluding Reality Club members without a Money Saver card) will earn tier points in various categories over a calendar year and this will determine their tier status for the following year. Points are calculated over a 12-month calendar year (ie 1 January to 31 December). In February, members will be informed of their new tier status. Benefit discounts based on your tier status will then apply. 1. Product and portfolio Tier points are earned by having products from the Sanlam Group and its strategic partners. Products include: retirement provision, savings, annuities, life cover products, investments and more. See overleaf for details. Points balance carry-over A certain percentage of points will carry over from one calendar year to the next calendar year. The carry-over points are calculated using this table below. The carry-over points are cumulative, meaning in year two you will carry over a combined total of your year one and year two carryover points. Year 1 Year 2 Year 3 Year 4+ Maximum carry-over 2. Managing your risk Tier points are earned based on your qualifying products and the specific programme that you joined: 2.1 Product: health, life, savings, investments, personal loans, Wills and trust You can earn tier points for: Basic medical Gym attendance Outdoor events 2.2 Product: Safety and security You can earn tier points for: Annual vehicle inspection Vehicle tracking device and driving behaviour Carry-over 20% 15% 10% 10% points 3. Programme Tier points are earned by updating and enhancing your programme experience: This carry-over process continues until a maximum of carry-over points have been reached. From that point onwards, the member will carry over points each subsequent year. Join Sanlam Reality Upgrade membership Sanlam Reality referral Register for Sanlam Secure Services Update contact details Get a Money Saver card Download Santam App (for Santam members only) 2 Membership option changes When a member moves from a tiered membership option to another tiered membership option, (ie from Reality Core to Reality Plus), the member s points and tier status will remain in place. When a member moves from a tiered option to a non-tiered option, that member will forfeit all points accrued up to that date. Alternatively, when a member moves from a non-tiered membership option to a tiered one, this will be treated as a new membership registration. When Sanlam Reality membership is cancelled, that member forfeits his/her tier status points. For T&Cs and updates, visit 4. 4 PRODUCT AND PORTFOLIO Earn tier points for your products and portfolio Your financial products in the Sanlam Group and strategic partners will help your tier status grow. There are a number of rules pertaining to the calculation of these points: - Points are calculated monthly based on the current fund value and premiums (single or recurring). For example: Members will earn 1 point for every R2.50 paid in monthly medical aid premiums (ie if the premium is R2 500 per month, they will earn tier status points). In addition to the maximum points that can be earned for the product and portfolio category, each product grouping also has a sub-cap of points. The full medical scheme contribution will be taken into account on Sanlam Reality Family membership options, where the member has dependants on the medical scheme. The full medical scheme contribution will be taken into account on Sanlam Reality Single membership options where there are no dependants on the medical scheme. Fifty percent of the full medical scheme contribution will be taken into account on Sanlam Reality Single membership options, where there are also other dependants on the medical scheme. NOTE: At this stage, Bonitas is unable to supply Sanlam Reality with the premium information required to allocate members points, as it is contrary to the Scheme s privacy policy. These members will be able to earn their premium points by submitting their medical scheme contribution certificate/medical Scheme Tax Certificate, Sanlam Reality membership number and a cover note to info@sanlamreality.co.za. 4 5

6 MANAGING YOUR RISK: HEALTH AND LIFE Earn tier points for managing your risk Your health is important to us, so you ll be rewarded for improving your health awareness. Only members with life or health, savings, investments, personal loans, Wills and trust can earn tier points in this category (this excludes members who only have Santam products). When you go for the test, have your Sanlam Reality membership number or ID number on hand and inform the nurse that you are completing a Reality Tiering Test. The nurse will measure your body mass index (BMI) and blood pressure, and test your cholesterol and glucose levels. Depending on your results (which will automatically be sent to Sanlam Reality), you may earn a maximum of points if you are on the Single membership options and if you are on the Family membership options (for multiple family member tests). The cost of the test is R132. See table below for the points breakdown. To earn points, you need to set up an Entrytime account through Sanlam Reality (sanlam.entrytime.com). Once you ve registered, you may start logging your events to claim your points. Depending on the difficulty level of the event, you may earn between tier points and tier points. The maximum points earnable in one calendar year is (for Single membership options) and (for Family membership options). Vehicles rated in the ideal range will earn you points per category; then points for almost ideal and points for not ideal. The cost of the vehicle inspection is for the member s own account. Please note: the outcome of the inspection will not affect your Santam short-term premium Vehicle Tracking Device You can earn 667 tier points per month (8 000 points per annum) for a deep-installed vehicle tracking device. The device will then record your driving score monthly. Members who rated as excellent will receive points a month and those who rated average will earn 800 points a month. If you have a poor driving score, you will earn zero points for driving however you will still receive points for having the device installed in your car.
