1 Agent Portal Updates/Enhancements: December 10, 2007 The following updates/enhancements will be made to the portal, effective November and December, Read further for additional details on these changes/enhancements: StarAdvantageSM Series Product Rollout Homepage changes to static content Insured Account Number Submit to Underwriting feature for the users of our new policy writing system, accessharleysville//cl SM. View/Search for Loss Runs (Plus! Coming Soon: Search for Loss Runs for noninforce policies) Select states for quoting Additionally, please note that Transact Now and Transformation Station connectivity has been restored for both Commercial and Personal lines. StarAdvantage SM Series Product Rollout (Commercial line product enhancements for Pennsylvania agents only) StarAdvantage SM Series: In conjunction with our new system, Harleysville will unveil an array of new and enhanced commercial lines products under the StarAdvantage Series name. StarAdvantage SM Businessowners Program: As part of our StarAdvantage Series product line, Harleysville has introduced a new StarAdvantage Businessowners Program. Here are some key points about the new product: o An ISO-based package with policy language and forms standardized across all regions/states. o Geared toward the needs of smaller, property-driven risks. o o Includes broad, automatic coverage Class-specific enhancements provide automatic, additional coverage for funeral homes, printers, professional offices and veterinarians. Product information is available from the home page by clicking on Read more as shown below as well as from Marketing & Sales Support in the top navigation bar.

2 Changes to static content: We have added a new tab called Agency Admin. There you can hyperlink to: Agency Advisory Council Contacts of our national council. Agency Locator Search or update our database of Harleysville agents. Agent Stock Purchase Program Information about how you can buy Harleysville stock at a reduced price. Licensing How to obtain a Harleysville appointment for a non-resident state or a producer. We have changed the Sales Promotion tab to Marketing & Sales Promotion. There you can hyperlink to: Fact Sheets - Designed to provide your customers with information about who we are, operational overview, our mix of business and other vital statistics. Order Supplies Place an online order of our marketing and sales support materials. Product Summaries Quick reference for many of our existing commercial and personal lines products. StarAdvantage SM Product Suite View and download or order product guide, class guide, product comparison chart and class exception guide for our new Businessowners product. (These products are currently only for use with our new policy writing system accessharleysville//cl SM in the state of Pennsylvania). The Promoter A listing of our current products and sales support materials with the ability to download or order them online. (These are our current products for use with our legacy policy writing systems.)

3 Insured Account Number Recently, Harleysville introduced an Insured Account Number feature within accessharleysville SM (our agent portal). See below for details and a work flow graphic. What is Insured Account Number? The Insured Account Number feature enables agents to view all insured-related documentation, such as forms, applications, policy information, etc. in one place. Where can agents find this information? Agents can view the Insured Account Number feature within the portal, under My Book of Business. With the introduction of accessharleysville//cl SM our commercial lines policy administration system agents also may create multiple billing accounts for the same insured account number. Each policy number will be associated with a billing account. Note: Agents using agency management systems will not be impacted by this change. The policy number will remain as the identifier when the agent passes information from his/her agency management system to our systems. Insured Account Number work flow graphic: The graphic below displays what you will find within the Insured Account Number feature. Submit to Underwriting tab If you are unable to bind a policy in accessharleysville//cl SM, you can submit the policy to the underwriter through the Submit to Underwriting tab. This tab is located under My Book of Business -> My Quoted Accounts -> drill to your specific account and View Account Detail -> Review Submission. Once you submit a quote in accessharleysville//cl SM you have the option to click the Review Quote Status link which launches the Review Submissions page. However, please note that this functionality is intended only for users of the accessharleysville//cl SM system.

4 If you are a HNET or HIIS user, please contact your underwriter in the manner you previously have used. Search Loss Runs To support the rollout of upcoming functionality to view loss runs (policyholder reports) for your non-inforce policies, we have added a search screen within the My Book of Business tab. Type in the billing profile/policy number (ex: 2G1234) no prefix is needed: Within the next few weeks, you will be able to use this functionality to search for policyholder reports for non-inforce policies. Currently, it can be used only for inforce. NOTE: You are still able to use the View Loss Runs icon when in the account detail. Select states for quoting If the risk you are attempting to quote has locations outside of Pennsylvania, click on Yes. NOTE: As previously indicated, these changes are to assist with the phased rollout of our new Commercial lines policy writing system, accessharleysville//cl SM. When the system rollout is complete for all states, you will no longer have to select states.

5 After selecting Yes, the screen will expand to show the states in which you are licensed to write business and all remainder states. If you wish to quote a risk in a state which you are not licensed in, select the appropriate state. The system will indicate whether online quoting is available or not. If not, you will need to submit documents for Harleysville s review. To become appointed with Harleysville in a nonresident state, click on the Contact Harleysville Licensing hyperlink. Your will launch. Indicate in the body of the your name, agency name/code and in which state you wish to be appointed. Harleysville s licensing vendor, Kaplan, will contact you directly to facilitate the process.
