1 Nepalese Student Assciatin Cnstitutin ARTICLE I Name f the Organizatin The name f the rganizatin shall be Nepalese Student Assciatin (NSA) ARTICLE II Purpse: The purpse f this rganizatin shall be T establish better relatin and cperatin amng Nepalese students f Oklahma State University. T cmmunicate t the members f the assciatin and keep them infrmed abut the aspects f Nepal. T fster better understanding and friendship with the peple f the hst cuntry and ther natinals by depicting and cmmunicating Nepalese life and culture thrugh varius scial and cultural activities. T extend all pssible help and cperatin t all Nepalese Students f Oklahma State University in such cases as may be deemed necessary by all the members f the executive cmmittee. It will be a nn-prfitable, nn-plitical student rganizatin frmed by Nepalese students f Oklahma State University. ARTICLE III Officers The fficers f this rganizatin shall be President, Vice-President, Secretary, Vice-Secretary, Treasurer, 6 members and a Faculty Advisr. The qualificatins fr the fficers in this rganizatin shall be a full time student at Oklahma State University with at least a 2.0 grade pint average and have a gd standing in the rganizatin The duties f the fficers shall be as fllws: President: The president shall be the head f the rganizatin. All activities f the assciatin shall be carried ut with the cnsent f the president. The president shall preside ver all meetings f the rganizatin. The president is empwered t direct all ffice-bearers and the members fr the smth executin f the assciatin activities. The president is answerable t the general bdy f the assciatin. Vice-President: In absence f the president, the vice-president shall functin as the president until the president is back r a new president is elected.

2 General Secretary: The general secretary is respnsible fr all fficial wrks f the assciatin. He/She will generally maintain cmmunicatin between ther assciatins and rganizatins. He/She shall call the meetings with the permissin f the president and prepare minutes f the meetings. He/She will maintain all the assciatin dcuments. The general secretary shall present an annual reprt and accunts f the assciatin in the annual general meeting. He r she will be respnsible fr filing f rganizatinal reprts t the Department f Campus Life as utlined in Article VIII. Vice-secretary: In absence f the general secretary, the vice-secretary shall functin as the secretary until the secretary is back r a new secretary is elected. Treasurer: The treasurer is respnsible fr all the accunts f the assciatin. He/She is respnsible t all the executive cmmittee members f the assciatin. He/She is als respnsible fr cllecting subscriptins, dnatins, etc. and shall maintain the accunts f the assciatin as required by the Student Activity Center f OSU. Executive Cmmittee Member: He/She will wrk as a helping hand t ther cmmittee members and perfrm the duties f any cmmittee member during his/her temprary absence. ARTICLE IV Qurum A Qurum fr this rganizatin shall be 51% bth in the meeting f the general bdy and f the executive cmmittee ARTICLE V Membership Nepalese natinal wh is als a student at Oklahma State University is eligible fr membership. Other natinals wh are interested in this assciatin are eligible t becme an assciatin member. NSA shall nt exclude any persn f membership based n race, creed, clr, natinal rigin r sex. ARTICLE VI Dues The yearly membership fee shall be paid nce a year befre annual general meeting. Amunt f fee will be decided in executive cmmittee meeting every year fr the fllwing year. ARTICLE VII By-laws A by-law may be passed at any regular meeting f the assciatin by a majrity vte f thse in attendance prvided a qurum is present.

3 ARTICLE VIII At the beginning f the fall semester, the Nepalese Student Assciatin shall present the names its executive cmmittee members and faculty advisr t the Department f Campus Life and shall prmptly reprt any changes that ccur during the year. At the beginning f the fall semester, the Nepalese Student Assciatin shall file with department f Student activities a signed "Affirmatin f Cmpliance". The funds f the Nepalese Student Assciatin shall be depsited with the University banking services and these shall be audited yearly, preferably at the time a new treasurer is installed. In the spring f each year, the assciatin shall submit t the Department f Campus Life a "year-endreprt" which details the prgrams and activities, which were spnsred during the previus year. ARTICLE IX Amendments Any amendment(s) f the Cnstitutin may be dne at least 66% majrity vte f the general student bdy present in the general meeting prvided qurum is frmed. President/V.P./G.S. can take emergency measures in cnsultatin with the executive cmmittee t meet the best interests f the assciatin, but the general bdy in the next general, emergency meeting must apprve f such actin.

4 First Amendment t the Nepalese Student Assciatin Cnstitutin 1. Name: This will be called as the 1st amendment t the Nepalese Student Assciatin Cnstitutin. 2. Purpse: The purpse f this amendment is t prvide supplementary infrmatin abut the cnstitutin as well as explain sme f the pints that are insufficient in the cnstitutin itself. 3. Amendments: I. Amendment t the Article III pint 1: The fficers f this rganizatin shall be President, Vice-President, Secretary, Vice-Secretary, Treasurer, Sprts Crdinatr, ISO Crdinatr, Cultural Crdinatr, C-cultural C-rdinatr, Public Relatin Officer, member and a Faculty Advisr. II. Amendment t the Article III pint 2: The duties f the fficers shall be as indicated in the main cnstitutin Article III pint 3(i t vi) and added fllwing respnsibilities t new designated categries: Sprts C-rdinatr: Chair the sprts cmmittee. Organize different types f sprts cmpetitin timely manner t mtivate players. Assist the executive bard in the planning and rganizing during I.S.O. Olympics. Assist all members f the executive bard in all N.S.A. activities.attend all general and special meetings f N.S.A. Try t crdinate with ther student rganizatins t initiate, cnduct and participate in different sprts cmpetitin. ISO c-rdinatr: Act as a liaisn between ISO and NSA. Attend all general meeting f ISO and NSA. Present the NSA issues t ISO. Assist all members f the executive bard in all NSA activities. Cultural crdinatr: Chair the cultural cmmittee. Assist the executive bard in the planning and rganizing the cultural events like Internatinal Cultural Night. Assist all members f the executive bard in all NSA activities. Attend all general and special meetings f NSA.

5 III. C-cultural crdinatr: Assist cultural c-rdinatr in his/her jb. Attend all general and special meetings f NSA. Assits all members f the executive bard in all NSA activities. Public Relatin Officer: Be respnsible fr prviding adequate publicity f all activities f NSA thrugh all mass media. Crdinate all scial activities f the rganizatin bth n and ff-campus. Assist all members f the executive bard in all NSA activities. Attend all general and special meetings f NSA. Amendment t the Article VI: Dues: The membership fee shall be paid tw times a year at the beginning f fall and spring semester during the welcme prgrams rganized by NSA. Amunt f fee will be decided in the executive cmmittee meeting and shuld be discussed in the general meeting if changes are t be made. 4. This amendment is tabled by the NSA fficers 2012/13 in frnt f the general assembly held n April 13th 2013 t be passed and further implemented.
