2 DATAMINE NPV SCHEDULER EXECUTIVE SUMMARY An ptimal strategic plan fr an pen pit mine maximizes Net Present Value (NPV) while meeting a wide range f prductin, engineering and ecnmic cnstraints. Since the time value f mney is the essence f evaluating NPV, strategic mine planners face an unslvable cnundrum : if the right time t mine a blck f re depends n its value, but its value depends n when it is mined when is the right time t mine it? NPV Scheduler uses a cmbinatin f mathematical rigr and peratinal practicality t reslve this issue and prduce a strategic plan where bth the mine design and the prductin schedule are ptimized fr maximum NPV. The secret is in the methdlgy. NPV Scheduler uses gelgical blck mdels and mining csts, cmmdity prices and pit slpe parameters t create Lerchs-Grssmann (LG) nested phases and an Optimal Extractin Sequence that maximizes NPV. It then frms pushback shapes accrding t ecnmic value, prductin targets and engineering cnstraints, but where traditinal scheduling applicatins cnfine the pushbacks t the LG phase bundaries, NPV Scheduler takes the phase bundaries as a guide while respecting the need fr practical mining shapes. The pushbacks are then scheduled int a perid by perid prductin plan by frming activities ut f mineable grups f blcks and using a pwerful ptimizing engine t achieve maximum NPV while ensuring a steady flw f re tnnes at mineable strip ratis. NPV Scheduler then refines the schedule by adding further engineering requirements: - Haulage Analyser / Optimizer specifies the right truck fleet. It tracks the tnne.kilmetres required t mine the resurce and then adjusts the schedule ver multiple years t minimize peak truck hurs and limit the fluctuatin in the truck fleet number. - Mine Flw Optimizer (MFO) increases NPV by ptimizing cut-ff grade. It adjusts the schedule t create mre value by mining higher grade re earlier in the schedule if ding that cmpensates fr the cst f wasting r stckpiling lwer grade re. - Material Allcatin Optimizer (MAO) re-allcates the prcessing f each blck (leach pad, mill, stckpile, waste, etc) t ptimize multiple blended prducts (e.g. irn re) where prductin targets and prduct specificatins can be blended frm different inputs. - Multimine Scheduler slves the prblem f ptimizing multiple mines simultaneusly t meet shared prductin bjectives.
