1 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION In order to facilitate the development of a that includes valuable input from the community, the City of Paramount solicited public involvement on the ning Steering Committee, which had the primary responsibility of providing guidance for detailing and ranking the hazards included within the Plan. The table on the following page provides the information and attendance for the Steering Committee participants. Participation on the Steering Committee included attending periodic Steering Committee meetings, identifying and ranking hazards, developing mitigation goals and objectives, compiling the asset inventory and conducting the loss estimates, identifying current mitigation efforts and potential mitigation projects, and reviewing chapters of the Plan throughout the development process. The following is the text, excerpted from the graphic above: Public Meeting for Updating City's "" According to U.S. government regulations, if a city is to qualify for federal grant money in the aftermath of a natural disaster, it must develop a plan to reduce or eliminate any vulnerabilities to such disasters. The City of Paramount is currently updating its to fulfill the requirement and prepare for potential disasters.
