D Meeting Date: February 8, 017 TOWN OF MORAGA STAFF REPORT_ To: Honorable Mayor and Councilmembers From: Robert Priebe, Town Manager Subject: Review and Prioritize Town Council and Community Goals and Objectives for 017 Request Review and prioritize Town Council and community goals and objectives for 017. Background On January 11, 017, Mayor Teresa Onoda s proposed goals for 017 were presented at a regular Town Council meeting and then posted on the Town s website for public review. On January 6, 017, at a special Goal Setting Workshop, Mayor Onoda presented for Council consideration and discussion four goals proposed for 017. Approximately 3 residents and business people attended to provide input and comment on the Town s larger vision and specific objectives to be accomplished and/or initiated during 017. During the workshop, staff presented an overview of the accomplishments from 016 and a list of ongoing projects and goals for 017. Discussion The intent of the 017 Goal Setting Workshop was to give the full Council the opportunity to informally discuss the goals, hear input from community members, and add or revise goals based on that input. After community input on all the goals during the Goal Setting Workshop, the Council, under the leadership of the Mayor, proposed adding several new and ongoing goals to Mayor Onoda s list. Staff has prepared a table incorporating all of the goals discussed by the Council as shown in Attachment A. The table represents staff s recommendation for goal prioritization based on our collective best estimate of relative cost (staff time and financial resources), and of achievability within this calendar year.

2 Once the Council has considered, prioritized, and finalized the presented goals and any others that may be added, staff will memorialize the final product in a staff report and bring it to the Council on the Consent Agenda of the February regular Town Council meeting. The entire list of Town goals and objectives, as revised during the Goal Setting Workshop, is attached (Attachment. A). The final prioritized Goals will be brought back to the Council quarterly to keep the community and Council apprised of the progress toward achievement of each adopted goal.
