3 Requirements STX Version Requirement: STX 3.1 v300 OS X Version Requirement: OS X or higher If on El Capitan 10.11, the version must be Always apply version updates for your specific OS X. Never upgrade to a new OS X without confirming STX compadbility first. Contact the Support department for more informadon. Activating Ingenico IPP320 Start with STX completely closed and the IPP320 unplugged from the computer. Go to the STX menu and select the Quit opdon to completely close STX. IMPORTANT NOTE: If STX is sdll running before stardng the acdvadon process, or the IPP320 is plugged in before it is necessary, the acdvadon will not be successful. Without proper acdvadon, you will not be able to process credit cards. Plug the Ingenico IPP320 terminal into the computer. The terminal will boot up and run through a series of screens undl it stops at the point of asking for the RNID. This process take between seconds. The following informadon was ed to you from your merchant services representadve a4er se^ng up your merchant account. Enter the 4- digit RNID number and press the green bubon. Enter the 5- digit Zip Code and press the green bubon. Enter the 10- digit AcDvaDon Code and press the green bubon. STX v300 & Ingenico IPP320 3
4 The IPP320 will state Ac8va8ng Device. Launch and log into the STX So4ware. A4er logging into the STX So4ware, the terminal will go through a series of screens stadng the following: Se^ngs Saved Checking in Device Ge^ng Profile Info Once the acdvadon process is complete the terminal will revert to the Welcome screen. Unplug the Ingenico IPP320 terminal and completely close STX by going to the STX menu and selecdng the Quit opdon. The terminal is now acdvated and ready to use with the STX So4ware. Plug the Ingenico IPP320 terminal back into the computer. The terminal will boot up and run through a series of screens undl it stops at Checking in Device. Once the terminal reads Checking in Device launch the STX So4ware, but do NOT log into the STX So4ware. The terminal will show Ge>ng Profile Info and then revert to the Welcome screen. The terminal is now connected and ready to use with STX. You may now enter your Employee ID and Password to log into the STX So4ware. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The Ingenico IPP320 terminal must be rebooted each day. END OF DAY: Completely close STX by going to the STX menu and selecdng the Quit opdon. Unplug the Ingenico terminal from the computer. NEXT MORNING: Replug the Ingenico terminal into the computer. Wait undl you see the message Checking In Device on the terminal screen. Launch the STX so4ware but don t login. Wait undl you see the Welcome message on the terminal screen. Log into STX. STX v300 & Ingenico IPP320 4
5 Processing without the Tip Line option included STX allows the opdon for including Tips for electronic payments. Go to Setup > General > Merchant. When the opdon Receipts Include Tip Line for Electronic Payments is not checked, there will not be an opdon for including a Dp when processing the electronic payment. Use the following steps to process an electronic payment using the Ingenico IPP320. Create a new Dcket or open an exisdng unpaid Dcket. Go to the Payments tab. Select the appropriate credit card payment type. The credit card processing drop- down sheet will appear. You will nodce the CC Number field is not editable and displays Ingenico AMached. Click the Charge bubon The terminal will light up allowing you to do one of the following: Swipe the credit card without a chip Dip/Insert the credit card with a chip Press the F1 bubon to manually enter a credit card Once you have swiped, inserted or manually entered the card, the Ingenico IPP320 will ask what type of processing to perform. You must select the credit opdon. If a Debit card with Credit capabilides is being used, only choose the first credit opdon listed. Example: 0 VISA DEBIT (or MC DEBIT) 1 US DEBIT STX v300 & Ingenico IPP320 5
6 Hit the green bubon to select the first choice, VISA DEBIT (or MC DEBIT). Authorize the amount displayed on the screen by pressing the green bubon. The terminal will finish processing the transacdon. If the credit card was swiped you will get a Charge Accepted screen in STX. If the credit card was dipped/inserted, you will need to wait undl the terminal prompts you to REMOVE CARD. A4er removing the card from the terminal, you will get a Charge Accepted screen in STX. Select OK on the Charge Accepted screen in STX. The Dcket will already be in the saved state. Simply close the Dcket and proceed with the next transacdon. If you require the client to sign a receipt, check the Print Receipt checkbox prior to closing the Dcket. With any screen on the Ingenico IPP320 terminal, you have 30 seconds to take acdon before the terminal Dmes out and reverts back to the Welcome screen. At any Dme, click the red bubon on the terminal to cancel the transacdon. STX v300 & Ingenico IPP320 6
7 Processing with the Tip Line option included STX allows the opdon for including Tips for electronic payments. Go to Setup > General > Merchant. 8 Once you have selected/entered the appropriate Dp amount, the Ingenico IPP320 will ask what type of processing to perform. You must select the credit opdon. If a Debit card with Credit capabilides is being used, only choose the first credit opdon listed. Example: 0 VISA DEBIT (or MC DEBIT) 1 US DEBIT Hit the green bubon to select the first choice, VISA DEBIT (or MC DEBIT). Authorize the amount displayed on the screen by pressing the green bubon. 9 Processing a Refund Use the following steps to process a Refund using the Ingenico IPP320. Create a new Dcket or open an exisdng unpaid Dcket to add the Refund items. Go to the Payments tab. Select the appropriate credit card payment type. The credit card processing drop- down sheet will appear. You will nodce the CC Number field is not editable and displays Ingenico AMached. Enter the amount to Credit (Must be a negadve number) Tab out of the amount field to acdvate the Credit bubon. Click the Credit bubon The terminal will light up allowing you to do one of the following: Swipe the credit card without a chip Dip/Insert the credit card with a chip Press the F1 bubon to manually enter a credit card Once you have swiped, inserted or manually entered the card, the Ingenico IPP320 will ask what type of processing to perform. You must select the credit opdon. If a Debit card with Credit capabilides is being used, only choose the first credit opdon listed. Example: 0 VISA DEBIT (or MC DEBIT) 1 US DEBIT Hit the green bubon to select the first choice, VISA DEBIT (or MC DEBIT). Authorize the amount displayed on the screen by pressing the green bubon. The amount will be in parenthesis denodng a negadve value. The terminal will finish processing the transacdon. If the credit card was swiped you will get a Credit Accepted screen in STX. If the credit card was dipped/inserted, you will need to wait undl the terminal prompts you to REMOVE CARD. A4er removing the card from the terminal, you will get a Credit Accepted screen in STX. Select OK on the Credit Accepted screen in STX. The Dcket will already be in the saved state. Simply close the Dcket and proceed with the next transacdon. With any screen on the Ingenico IPP320 terminal, you have 30 seconds to take acdon before the terminal Dmes out and reverts back to the Welcome screen. At any Dme, click the red bubon on the terminal to cancel the transacdon. STX v300 & Ingenico IPP320 9
10 Troubleshooting Ingenico Ques8on: I rebooted my computer and now the Ingenico is not working. What do I do? Answer: The terminal did not reconnect during the reboot. This could also be the case a4er losing and restoring an internet connecdon, or possibly at any Dme during the day. The terminal needs to be rebooted. Always pay abendon to the terminal during the reboot process. Do not launch the STX so4ware undl you see Checking In Device on the terminal screen. If you don t see that message, the terminal has Dmed out and needs to be rebooted. Completely close STX by going to the STX menu and selecdng the Quit opdon. Unplug the Ingenico terminal from the computer. Wait approximately 30 seconds. Replug the Ingenico terminal into the computer. Wait undl you see the message Checking In Device on the terminal screen. Launch the STX So4ware but don t login. Wait undl you see the PaymentMate or Welcome message on the terminal screen. Log into STX. If you wait to launch the STX So4ware undl the PaymentMate or Welcome message appears on the terminal screen, you have waited too long. You must launch the STX So4ware at the Dme the Checking In Device message appears on the terminal screen. Ques8on: Manual Entry is processing, but the swiping or inserdng are not. What do I do? Answer: The terminal is working and so is the account if a manual entry is processing as expected. However, the terminal may need to be rebooted if swiping or inserdng are failing. If reboodng the terminal does not solve the issue, the card itself does not allow for the chip to work. This is something the issuing bank has to resolve. The cardholder should contact their bank to let them know the challenges when using the card. Ques8on: Only swiping is working, but not inserdng. What do I do? Answer: The terminal is working and so is the account if a the swiping is processing as expected. However, the terminal may need to be rebooted if inserdng the card is failing. If reboodng the terminal does not solve the issue, the card itself does not allow for the chip to work. This is something the issuing bank has to resolve. The cardholder should contact their bank to let them know the challenges when using the card. Ques8on: I am ge^ng a message Ingenico not ready when trying to process a payment in STX. What do I do? Answer: Try reboodng the terminal. If you sdll receive the Ingenico not ready message, reboot the computer. When the computer is rebooted, reboot the terminal again. STX v300 & Ingenico IPP320 10
