A fall in crude oil prices and a firmness in rupee also boosted market participant sentiment. The market breadth which indicates overall health of the market was positive. The Nifty 50 than gained points and settled the day at Private Banks were the major gainer and IT sector were the major loser of the day. Vakrangee gained share price gained 5% after the Security Exchange Board of India (Sebi) granted a clean chit to the company in a stock manipulation case. Sun Pharma announced that it has entered in a definitive agreement to acquire Pola Pharma, a leading dermatology company in Japan. Sical Logistics surged 4.12% after the company said it received a letter of acceptance - from Mahanadi Coalfields for excavation of coal / coal measure strata and allied transportation activities. Tata Communications, a Tata group company, is expected to scrap the plan to acquire Tata Teleservices enterprise business, as informed by the media. Adani Mining's Carmichael mine and rail project will be 100% financed through the Adani Group's resources. Global Markets Japan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Transport, Steel and Transportation Equipment sectors led shares higher. The Nikkei 225 added 0.79%. Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Electricity, Rubber and Semiconductor sectors led shares higher. The Taiwan Weighted rose 0.01%.
