1 Daily Market Insights 11 th January 2019 es743 u The market snapped a four-day rally on Thursday, due to profit booking. Key benchmark Indices were trading with small losses in early trade. Benchmarks firmed up and hit fresh intraday high in morning trade. Indices reversed trend and traded near day's low in mid-morning trade. Indices extended losses in afternoon trade and hit fresh intraday low in mid-afternoon trade. The Nifty 50 lost than points and settled the day at Private Banks were major loser and Pharma sector were the major gainers of the day. Global Markets Overseas, European shares were trading lower as investors focused on trade war developments and monetary policy in the US. Most Asian shares were trading lower. China's Producer Price Index (PPI), which measures price increases before they reach the consumer, in December rose 0.9% on-year. That compares with the 2.7% year-on-year increase in November. At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 declined 1.29%. China stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Real Estate Investments & Services, Telecoms and Mobile sectors led shares lower. At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite lost 0.36%. Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil, Gas & Electricity and Plastic sectors led shares lower.
