Key benchmark indices started session on a positive note tracking firm global cues. Indices extended gains as the session progressed and hit fresh intraday high in morning trade. Indices further extended gains and hit fresh intraday high in mid-afternoon trade. Indices pared gains in late trade. The Nifty than 50 gained points and settled the day at All the sectorial indices ended on positive note, among them Media sector were the major gainers of the day. Global Markets Overseas, shares in Europe opened higher while most shares in Asia ended higher, following a wild session on Wall Street where the Dow erased a 600-point drop to close positive. 2 Stock Snippets WABCO India clarified that the news of Wabco signing $950mn supply pact with commercial vehicle maker is for its parent company and not for the Indian arm. Share price of Dilip Buildcon were trading 1% higher after the company executed an agreement with the NHAI for a road project worth Rs677.07cr in Uttar Pradesh. Lemon Tree Hotels surged 9% after the company agreed to enter into a joint venture with Magnolia Grove Investment, an affiliate of Warburg Pincus group. United Bank of India rose 9.71%. The Central Government has informed its - decision to invest Rs 2159 crore in the equity capital of the United Bank of India by Preferential Allotment. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries rose 1.4% after the company's subsidiary was awarded preliminary injunctive relief prohibiting Biofrontera from using its trade secrets Suven Life Sciences rose 1.37% after the announcement of grant of one product patent each from Brazil and Eurasia for treatment of disorders associated with neurodegenerative diseases. Global Markets Japan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Retail and Power sectors led shares lower. At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 lost 0.31%. China stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Electricity, Utilities and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares higher.at the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite gained 0.44%. Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Communication and Internet, Plastic and Chemical sectors led shares higher.at the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.89%.
