1 Minutes of HSRA Board Meeting March 8, 217 Met Club Participants Juan Caro John DiFilippo Andy Hubbard John Leavy Observer Azam Zaidi Meeting Discussion The meeting opened at 6.3 pm - Proposed JFL, Seconded JDiF Minutes - Minutes from the HSRA Board Meeting held on February were reviewed and approved. President's Report - Good reports have been received both from the LTF Junior tournament and also from the Texas Open held in Austin. Secretary's Report - The attached report and financial report were reviewed. League Report - The current league consists of around 64 people in 8 boxes - A note has been sent to league participants asking players to respect Met Club booking rules. - Difficulties are being experienced in ensuring that all matches are played. Prizes and an end of cycle event are being considered to encourage participation. Mission Squash Report - Mission Squash are working on plans for summer camps. Houston Open Sponsorship - The HSRA has received a request to consider sponsorship of the event - Board members discussed this proposal in the context of both the 217 Budget, and agreed priorities. - After discussion the President proposed sponsorship of $lk, and this was unanimously approved by the Board members present. - It was also agreed that we will request a table at the event to allow HSRA vu\q
2 material to be shared. Junior Leagues and Tournament - The final proposal for Junior Leagues has now been discussed with and circulated to club pros. The approach is for 4 teams (Met Club, LTF, Mission Squash, Traftoa), with 6 games (3 home, 3 away) to be played monthly starting in April. Pro's have been asked to confirm their support, and to identify a Team Manager. - Sign-ups are now underway for the LTF Silver Junior tournament to be held on April It was noted that players need to be US Squash members to participate in the tournament. - Further to the discussion at the Feb 23 board meeting, it is now understood that June Junior tournament at the Met Club will not be proceeding.
