Shrt term strategy - expand blanket supplementary feeding fr up t 10,000 mre beneficiaries (27,000 in ttal) and/r pilt small scale treatment prgramme f MAM with new partner (Malteser). Lng term strategy further discussin with different partners t see if anyne is interested and has the capacity t run treatment prgramme fr MAM in NRS. Began using WHO Grwth Standard and the first indicatin shws that SAM caselad increased up t 4.9 times in Buthidaung (partially linked with an increased number f admissins f children abve 5 years (35% f the admissin) and 2 times in Maundaw. In ttal, 756 children in Buthedaung and 364 in Maungdaw. In Maungdaw District, the number f PLW admitted t treatment f MAM is lwer than expected. This is mainly explained by cultural reasns as it is difficult fr PLWs t g ut and seek care alne. Plans t rganize a wrkshp in Buthidaung and Maungdaw with MH. Partners and NNC will be invited. Wrkshp t fcus n the prblem f malnutritin in BTD and MGD and future actin plan. WFP t update partners in next sectr meeting

3 WFP: In Sittwe, ACF will change t WHO Standard in 1 st week f May. In Sittwe, a new OTP has been pened in a Muslim village (HLA Ma Chey) Plans t explre gender disparities in nutritin prgramme in Rakhine state and identify underlying causes (t be cnducted by an intern frm Clumbia University). WFP will start MUAC assessment in 722 villages (30 HH in each village) f NRS (BTD and MGD) in rder t get village level anthrpmetric nutritin data fr decisin making. Nutritin sectr plan structure and cntent Plan: Finalized SMART survey in Kachin in March. The result is nt much different frm previus 2013 survey (GAM 2.9%, Glbal stunting 37%, Glbal underweight 13.5%, and Glbal verweight 1%) Sectr partners agree that there is a need fr a separate Nutritin Sectr Plan in additin t the HRP which desn t prvide much detail. Purpse Prvide an verarching framewrk fr the nutritin respnse (emergency and transitin); Prvide a visin and an inter-agency actin plan fr a cllective, cmprehensive, evidence-based respnse. It was discussed and agreed that the strategy shuld: include an advcacy plan as a key cmpnent describe rles and respnsibilities, as well as delivery mechanism f nutritin interventins be a living dcument which can be updated (nt an annual plan) include bth Rakhine and Kachin in the same plan nt fcus n indicatrs, targets, and lcatins in detail (as in 2014 SRP) fcus n verall apprach and visin and transitin frm humanitarian t develpment-riented activities nt be a csted plan f actin (existing HRP is already csted) include key survey results t describe the general nutritin situatin be relevant t dnrs and rganizatins implementing nutritin activities (as key audience) Partners did nt wish t have a wrkshp in which the cntent f the strategy culd be discussed. Partners expressed that they UNICEF t prvide first draft

5 AB wuld like UNICEF t prvide a first draft strategy t which partners wuld thereafter prvide feedback. 1. Simultaneus prvisin f frtified blended fd and multimicrnutrients a. Myanmar Natinal guideline (MH/UNICEF) states that 2 sachets shuld be prvided per week if blended fd is prvided at the same time. The recmmendatin frm WFP is nt t prvide bth at the same time (ACF agrees with WFP). There is n clear glbal guidance. b. It was suggested t arrange a meeting t discuss this issue frm a planning and peratinal perspective. 2. Finalizatin and extensin f new Prject Cperatin Agreements (PCAs) a. The need t ensure quick finalizatin and extensin f PCAs was mentined in rder t avid gaps in service prvisin; b. The new PCA between MHAA and UNICEF shuld be finalized as sn as pssible. (Since the meeting, this PCA has been finalized and apprved). i. The need t strengthen the capacity f MHAA was mentined, bth in terms f technical knwledge, prpsal writing and general management. Meeting tentatively during 3 rd week f May In future partnerships with MHAA, partners shuld agree t include capacity strengthening activities.
