Popular radio personalities Maleko from Star and Krey-Z Oshiro of Island 98.5 were on HiTel FCU s Kapolei Branch Farrington Hwy (located inside Walmart) Phone: Fax: Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00am - 7:00pm Saturday 9:00am - 4:00pm hand to oversee the festivities, and to do live broadcasts from the event. Attendees took their turns spinning the lucky slot machine to try to win a brand new 2012 Volkswagen Passat. Kahu Shad Kane, a community leader in the Kapolei area and author of the book Cultural Kapolei performed the blessing. The crowd also happily gobbled up the yummy free samples that were being handed out by Kapolei s own Cupcakes and Things. Mahalo to Clear Channel Hawaii, Cupcakes and Things, Honolulu Volkswagen, and to everyone who took the time to drop by and help us celebrate. We look forward to serving you at our new branch! 2 Chairman s Message Aloha Members, I would like to extend my thanks and aloha to those of you who attended our recent Kapolei Branch grand opening. It was a real joy to meet with our members and to hear that you are pleased with our new location. We are grateful and honored to be a part of the Kapolei community. Keep in mind that the Kapolei branch is open on Saturdays, and we have extended Monday through Friday hours, in case you need us. Your Credit Union is always looking for ways to add value to the products and services that we provide. I m pleased to tell you of the newest enhancement to our Auto Loans program, as well as our new Bill Payer service. We ve recently teamed with CU Direct Corporation to bring you the AutoSmart website. On this website you will be able to search an expansive online inventory of available cars to help you find the vehicle that is right for you (see page 4). Soon, our Bill Payer service will be upgraded with a lot of exciting new features that will allow you more flexibility in paying your bills (see page 3). Glen Moribe, Board Chairman Member Service Going Casual for a Cause Casual Day 2012 If you visited any of our branches on Wednesday, June 20, you may have noticed that some of our staff were dressed down. It was all for a good cause as we once again participated in this year s Casual Day fund raising event for United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawaii (UCPA). Staff who made a qualifying monetary donation received the official Casual Day t-shirt which they were allowed to wear on Casual Day. We raised over $3000 thanks to the generous contributions of our employees! One hundred percent of the funds raised will stay in Hawaii. The donations will go a long way in helping UCPA in their efforts to positively affect the quality of life for children and adults afflicted with cerebral palsy or other severe disabilities with similar service needs. 3 Changes to Home Branching As part of our on-going efforts to bring you the latest and greatest in financial products and services, we will soon be making some changes to our Bill Payer service. HiTel FCU has chosen a service which we feel will work best for you and for your bill payment needs. The new Bill Payer service will provide you access to these great features: Search for vendors. Add new vendors simply by typing in the company name. If a match is found in the database, the vendor s information will be added automatically. No more hunting down mailing addresses and inputting their info. Simply enter your account number and add your bills to be paid. Schedule payments by the due date. The new Bill Payer will allow you to enter the date you want your payee to receive payment. We take care of getting it there on time! Keep your money with you. Your money will remain in your account until the day you select your payee to receive the payment. Set up reminders. Never make a late payment again! When you set up reminders, you ll receive a message telling you when your payment is due. Make recurring payments. Eliminate the hassle of paying your monthly bills by setting up recurring payments. This is a great option for payments that don t change from month to month such as your car payment or mortgage. See it all at a glance. The Payment Center lets you make payments and view pending payments, recent payments, and bill reminders all on the same screen. The new and enhanced Bill Payer service will be launched on September 19, You will continue to access Bill Payer through the Home Branching website. Your payees will also be converted to the new system, and we will do our best to ensure that we have the most current address and account information for each of your payees. In preparation for this change, please be sure that your address, phone number and are current on our system. Highlighted Employee The sparkle and sheen of our branch in Kapolei does not come entirely from it s newness some of it comes from the employees who staff it! One of them is Natalie Adriano, our Highlighted Employee for this issue. Natalie is a Teller who has been with HiTel FCU since She previously worked at our King Street and Waipahu branches before moving to our Kapolei location. At every branch, she has enjoyed working with wonderful people, which includes members as well as co-workers. Natalie s life revolves around her family, and on weekends you can find her at the soccer field, barbecuing at the pool, or at the beach picnicking with her three daughters (ages 12, 7, and 4). When she does have a free moment, she enjoys listening to music by Adele, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé. Natalie is also a fan of Mixed Martial Arts, and names Clay The Carpenter Guida as one of her favorite fighters.
