1 MTF Trend Version 4.0 Description: The Multiple Time Frame Trend (MTFT) indicator will aggregate multiple timeframes onto 1 chart. Up to 5 time frames can be shown (time frame 1=TF1, time frame 2 =TF2, time frame 3 = TF3, time frame 4 = TF4, time frame 5 = TF5) as well as a summation of all timeframes that show the overall trend based on the aggregation of the 5 time frames. A Modified Heikin Ashi (MHA) algorithm is used to calculate the trend for each time frame. The summation of all time frames shows the overall trend based on the summation of the 5 individual time frames that each use the MHA algorithm. When there is a strong trend (all 5 time frames agree) and an uptrend has started the Sum is shown in light blue and a downtrend the Sum is shown in red. When the trend may be changing to up the Sum is shown in dark blue and when the trend may be changing to down the Sum is shown in dark red. The MTFT indicator works in RadarScreen, the Scanner and the Chart Analysis window. Inputs: numbarstf2 = The number of bars used to create the MHA bars for time frame 2. The default is 2. numbarstf3 = The number of bars used to create the MHA bars for time frame 3. The default is 3. numbarstf4 = The number of bars used to create the MHA bars for time frame 4. The default is 4. numbarstf5 = The number of bars used to create the MHA bars for time frame 5. The default is 5. compbar1 = The number of bars used to create the status of each bar in TF1 based on the modified MHA. The default is 6. CompBar2 = The number of bars used to create the status of each bar in TF2 based on the modified MHA. The default is 6. CompBar3 = The number of bars used to create the status of each bar in TF3 based on the modified MHA. The default is 5. CompBar4 = The number of bars used to create the status of each bar in TF4 based on the modified MHA. The default is 5. CompBar5 = The number of bars used to create the status of each bar in TF5 based on the modified MHA. The default is 4. Important Notes: The Current Trend indicator will work on any time frame or tick chart. The Modified Heikin Ashi (MHA) algorithm is an algorithm that accumulates over all bars that are used (like and exponential moving average) so you need to make sure that there are alot of bars so that the calculations will be accurate when using the RadarScreen and the Chart Analysis window. The default is to load at least 500 bars. MTFT works in RadarScreen, the Scanner, and the Chart Analysis window. 1

2 Uses: Help to determine if there is a trend in place. Either an uptrend or a down trend. MTFT can be used in RadarScreen to monitor several stocks, ETFs, etc. to see if a trend is either starting are is already in progress. MTFT can be used in the Scanner to look for the possible start of an uptrend or a downtrend. 2

3 Display: In Chart Analysis Window: The MTFT indicator shows 6 rows of dots. The top row is the "Sum" row that is the overall status of the indicator. The 2nd row from the top is time frame 1 which applies the MHA algorithm to bars of the timeframe of the current chart. The 3rd row from the top is time frame 2 which applies the MHA algorithm to the bars that are numbarstf2*chart time frame. The 4th row from the top is time frame 3 which applies the MHA algorithm to the bars that are numbarstf3*chart time frame. The 5th row from the top is time frame 4 which applies the MHA algorithm to the bars that are numbarstf4*chart time frame. The sixth row from the top is time frame 5 which applies the MHA algorithm to the bars that are numbarstf5*chart time frame. o So the indicator shows from top to bottom: Sum time frame 1 (1 day on current chart) time frame 2 (2 days on current chart using default value) time frame 3 (3 days on current chart using default value) time frame 4 (4 days on current chart using default value) time frame 5 (5 days on current chart using default value) So, for the daily chart above time frame 1=1 day, time frame 2=2 days, time frame 3=3 days, time frame 4=4 days, time frame 5=5 days. For example, if an hourly chart was used then time frame1=1 hour, time frame 2=2 hours, time frame 3=3 hours, time frame 4=4 hours, time frame 5=5 hours using the default values. In RadarScreen : 3

4 MTFT indicator in RadarScreen has 7 columns of data that are used to show the current trend. o TF1 is time frame 1 and shows the MHA on the current interval (1 day in the above RadarScreen screen shot). A blue "1.00" is up and a red "-1.00" is down. o TF2 is time frame 2 and shows the MHA on the current interval * numbarstf2 (2 days in the above RadarScreen screen shot). A blue "1.00" is up and a red "-1.00" is down. o TF3 is time frame 3 and shows the MHA on the current interval * numbarstf3 (3 days in the above RadarScreen screen shot). A blue "1.00" is up and a red "-1.00" is down. o TF4 is time frame 4 and shows the MHA on the current interval * numbarstf4 (4 days in the above RadarScreen screen shot). A blue "1.00" is up and a red "-1.00" is down. 4

5 o o o TF5 is time frame 5 and shows the MHA on the current interval * numbarstf5 (5 days in the above RadarScreen screen shot). A blue "1.00" is up and a red "-1.00" is down. Sum is the aggregate of TF1, TF2, TF3, TF4, and TF5. There are several possibilities: blank=no overall trend indication yellow "5.00"=start of uptrend with all 5 time frames in agreement blue "5.00"=uptrend in progress with all 5 time frames in agreement yellow "-5.00"=start of downtrend with all 5 time frames in agreement red "-5.00"=downtrend in progress with all 5 time frames in agreement darkblue "2.00"=early warning that an uptrend may be starting and is confirmed by TF1 and TF2. orange "-2.00"=early warning that a downtrend may be starting and is confirmed by TF1 and TF2. Cnt is the number of bars for the current trend when there is one. Positive number in blue indicates the bar count for an uptrend and negative numbers in red indicate the bar count for a downtrend. 5

the Scanner: This scan is setup to find stocks that are at least $20, have at least 1,000,000 shares traded and are in an uptrend based on the MTFT indicator.

6 the Scanner: This scan is setup to find stocks that are at least $20, have at least 1,000,000 shares traded and are in an uptrend based on the MTFT indicator. The scan results can be sorted so that those with a "Cnt" between 1 and 3 are shown first so that stocks that have just started and uptrend can be found. The same type of scan can be done for stocks that are in a downtrend by changing the scan criteria for "Cnt" to be between "-1" and -3. 6
