3 How you start in your platform The workspace and the Gold Space strategy are automatically downloaded to your computer once you start your free trial or when you subscribe. In your Tradestation platform you should click on File and then click on Open workspace and then look for a workspace named Gold Space and open it. Wait some seconds while it loads and you will have the charts with the strategy already inserted. What you find within the workspace The workspace already comes with commissions and slippage deducted and with Intrabar backtesting resolution enabled as honesty fact. Feel free to contact us if you are not familiar with these or if you don t know why they are highly important in trading systems testing/evaluating. We recommend to all the users/traders to test ALL the trading systems in Trading Appstore with intrabar backtesting, commission and slippage. Trading symbol You should use the continuous as it comes to see the historical performance. When the user/trader is going to trade with Gold Space he should change the data1 to the current contract. We suggest using the current contract at the beginning in order to load more data. Gold Space This trading system is directed to individual investors, institutions as well as swing trades. It trades long and short and aims to take advantage of the short term and midterm trends in the Gold market. Gold Space is a trading system designed to trade Gold futures contract using a proprietary technique. Most of the trades remained opened for less than a day. This strategy identifies when the current trend in 60 minute chart is losing strength, in order to take advantage of the possible new movement at the same time it monitors the overall trend and

4 mostly makes trades in the direction of the overall trend. Sometimes, may happen that the entry of a new trade could be the exit of the previous trade (Reverse the position) and each trade has a stop loss. It allows trading 1 contract. Several techniques as walk forward, sensitivity analysis, reward/risk analysis, among others were employed to avoid curve-fit and to test the reliability of the strategy. The backtest and walk forward employed on this trading system were done with commission, slippage deducted and intra bar backtesting enabled. We recommend to all the users/traders to test all the trading systems in TradingApp store with intrabar backtesting, commission and slippage. Robustness Gold Space strategy has been tested with in house testing techniques as well as well-known testing techniques. Several techniques as walk forward, sensitivity analysis, and reward/risk analysis among others were employed to avoid curve-fit and to test the reliability of the strategies. The strategies have a good number of trades and they are tested in more than 10 years, ensuring that the studies contained different market types and cycles. How we develop First of all, we tested our trading strategies with commissions, slippage deducted and with intrabar backtesting resolution from the early stage from the development process. This is very important since a strategy without these important inputs may show good results but might not do well in real market conditions. For this reason we include commissions, slippage, and intrabar backtesting resolution from the early stage of the development process. A strategy that does not show good results including these inputs simply does not work in real market conditions. We test a high number of combinations and we evaluate that the trading idea perform well using a high percentage of them. Something of the utmost importance for us is the Walk Forward. A lot of strategies seem to perform well in backtesting and when they are tested in unknown data they failed. It is precisely on what Walk Forward consists, in testing the strategy in unknown data (Not used in the development process).

5 This process takes time of us, but it is worth since this testing in unknown data helps us to test whether or not the strategies are robust enough. On the other hand our development process is highly rigorous and because of that we have rejected many options that might show positive results but don t meet our high standards of development. During all the development process other techniques to test robustness are implemented such us sensitivity analysis, reward/risk analysis, ratios analysis, among others.
