Notice No. 15/175 : A171 : W054 advised members of the LME s intention to launch four new LME Aluminium Premium contracts, LME Steel Scrap and LME Steel Rebar contracts, with effect from 23 November, This Notice provides details of those contracts, the testing dates and environments that will be made available to members and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs). LME Aluminium Premium Contracts 2. The LME Aluminium Premium contracts will be monthly contracts out to 15 months and settling on the third Wednesday of each contract month. These will trade in the Ring, on LMEselect and on the telephone market. The new contracts will cover four key regions of aluminium demand: US Midwest (AN), West Europe (AW), East Asia (AE) and South-East Asia (AS). Last Trading Day and Time 3. The last trading day and time for Premium Aluminium contracts is two business days before the third Wednesday of the contract month until 19:00 London Time for business executed on the telephone market and LMEselect and 16:30 for trading in the Ring. Last Trade Input Day and Time 4. The last trade matching and registration input into LMEsmart for Premium Aluminium contracts is two business days before the third Wednesday of the contract month by 20:00 London time subject to relevant matching deadlines. New ferrous suite - LME Steel Scrap and LME Steel Rebar 5. The LME Steel Scrap (SC) and LME Steel Rebar (SR) contracts will be monthly contracts out to 15 months and settling on the last business day of each contract month. These will trade on LMEselect and on the telephone market.
2 Last Trading Day and Time 6. The last trading day and time for the Steel Scrap contract is the last business day of the contract month until 13:30 London Time. The last trading day and time for the Steel Rebar contract is the last business day of the contract month until 16:30 London Time. Last Trade Input Day and Time 7. The last trade matching and registration input into LMEsmart for the current month for Steel Scrap and Steel Rebar is the last business day of the month by 20:00 London time subject to relevant matching deadlines. Reporting Requirements 8. LME Category 1, 2, 3 and 4 members will be required to report their Premium Aluminium, Steel Scrap and Steel Rebar positions to the LME as part of their daily position reporting obligations. They will also be required to include the positions in the market open interest (MOI) reporting. Publication of Prices 9. LME Steel Scrap, Steel Rebar and Premium Aluminium contract prices will be published to the data vendors and available in the same way as other LME contract prices. Traded prices on LMEselect and on the telephone markets will also be published to the data vendors. Project Timeline 10. There will be two member and ISV testing periods, the first phase from 14 September 2015 until 9 October 2015, with a second phase of testing from 19 October 2015 until 13 November Third Wednesday deliveries during the testing phases will be mandatory for members intending to trade the Premium Aluminium contracts (prompt dates 16 September 2015 and 21 October 2015), this means that members must commence testing on 14 September 2015 to create deliveries for the September delivery process. 12. LME Market Operations will provide test scenarios to those members participating in the testing. Please contact marketoperations@lme.com to obtain these scenarios. Testing Environment details 13.
