2 Our Benefits Pension We know that planning for the future is really important and building up a good pension for your future is something we want to help you achieve. Whether you are in your twenties, your sixties or somewhere in between, we want to encourage you to consider and plan for your future financial security. To make it as easy as we can for you to join the pension plan we will: Automatically enrol you into the plan at a minimum contribution level; you do not have to do anything. Write to you personally to explain about Automatic Enrolment, and how it affects you. Provide you with useful information and guidance on how the pension scheme works At the NSPCC we offer a choice of two pension schemes: The Auto-Enrolment Pension scheme NSPCC Group Personal Pension Scheme

3 The Auto-Enrolment Pension scheme Contribution rates will be in line with the Auto-enrolment requirements as set out by the Government, which are detailed below;- Your Contribution (Gross) NSPCC Contribution Total Contribution October 2012 to April % 1% 2% April 2018 to April % 2% 5% April 2019 onwards* 4% 4% 8% * The NSPCC will contribute an extra 1% above the minimum requirement to the 2019 rates to make this up to 8%. NSPCC Group Personal Pension Scheme Contribution rates will be on a matched basis starting at 4% up to a maximum of 7%. Employees are able to contribute more than this but the NSPCC will contribute a maximum of 7%. Your Contribution (Gross) NSPCC Contribution Total Contribution 4% 4% 8% 5% 5% 10% 6% 6% 12% 7% 7% 14% Our pension provides: Simplicity it is easy to join and your contributions are deducted from payroll and paid to the pension provider by the NSPCC Portability if you leave the NSPCC you can take your plan with you A salary exchange (otherwise known as salary sacrifice) to make the scheme more efficient. You will have the option to opt out of the salary exchange contribution method. The NSPCC will pay an additional contribution of 0.35% into the scheme to help reduce the impact of the investment charges under the scheme.

4 Why bother with a pension? The state pension alone may not cover your needs (or desires!) in retirement. For the tax year 2014/2015 the full basic state pension is a week for a single person and a week for a couple. People are living longer; your retirement could extend beyond 30 years! In 2001 there were 340,000 people living in England and Wales over age 90. In 2011 this figure has already increased to 430,000 (source: national census) Tax relief is available on contributions every 80p you pay is topped up to 1 by the taxman. If you are a higher rate tax payer, further tax relief may be available on contributions What is the catch? There is no catch. Put simply, if you choose to opt out of the pension scheme, you will lose the NSPCC s contribution to your pension. NSPCC Life Assurance Life is so uncertain and that is why everyone should consider having life assurance in place. Having life assurance can provide your loved ones with future financial security should something happen to you. All employees will be given life assurance of one times their salary, unless they join the NSPCC Group Personal Pension Scheme members of this scheme are given life assurance of five times their salary. Our group life assurance arrangement provides you with a tax-free lump sum benefit should death happen in service. The lump sum is payable should you die whilst in the employment of the NSPCC before age 70. The payments are normally taxable. Life Assurance

5 Childcare vouchers We take part in the Childcare voucher scheme to provide support to working parents. Childcare vouchers are a salary sacrifice scheme which allows parents to substitute part of their salary for vouchers. Childcare vouchers are exempt from both national insurance contributions and tax. Employee Assistance Programme The Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), is an independent, free, personal support service, that is available to all NSPCC employees 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This service offers confidential advice, valuable information, specialist counselling and support to make both your work and home life easier. The EAP entitles you to the following: Telephone counselling Online information and resources Specialist telephone advice Online cognitive behavioural therapy Online health & wellbeing assessments Six face to face counselling sessions per issue per year (only if it is deemed necessary by the PPC counsellor) Specialist legal, consumer and debt advice Season ticket loans We provide a discretionary scheme that gives an interest free loan to assist train and/or bus travel and bicycle purchases.

6 Annual Leave The full-time annual leave entitlement is 29 days per annum plus bank holidays. After five years continuous service, your entitlement will increase to 32 days per annum. Part-time staff will receive a pro rata amount of leave dependent upon the hours they work. Headspace As a NSPCC employee you can sign up to a 1 year s free access to the Headspace app. Headspace provides subscribers with bite size sessions that will teach you meditation and mindfulness techniques that you can apply to your day to day life. Family friendly We know how important family is and understand that there may be times where you will need to be away from work in addition to annual leave. This is why we offer our staff generous leave which includes: Maternity Paternity Shared parental leave Adoption Carers Parental Compassionate Career Break

7 Employer Network for Equality & Inclusion (enei) The NSPCC is a member of Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion, which is the UK's leading employer network covering all aspects of equality and inclusion in the workplace. As a NSPCC employee you can access member resources which include employer guides, policy briefings, Case studies, research reports and many more Research in Practice The NSPCC is a member of Research in Practice (RiP), a national organisation which champions evidence based practice in child and family services. They work closely with us to champion evidence based practice in other ways. As a NSPCC employee you will have access to a great range of free resources and training opportunities, including a vast range of research briefings, 25% discount on e-learning, conferences and trainings, discounted webinars at time of broadcast or free at a later time. You will also be able to access hard copies of all research briefings and reports from our library. Staff volunteering opportunities Volunteers are the lifeblood of the NSPCC. We rely on support from a range of people - including our colleagues - and are committed to encouraging mutually beneficial and rewarding volunteering experiences for our employees. To make the process as easy as possible we've got a package of support available to help you fit your volunteering around your work commitments. All NSPCC employees are entitled to allocate up to 4 working days per year, or half an hour each week, to volunteer for the NSPCC. NSPCC staff promotional offers

Discount is valid all day every day except Christmas Day and applies to all core menu offers including bar menus, children's menu, breakfast, takeaway, Harvester Earlybird and standard fixed price 2 or 3 course menus as long as a main meal or equivalent per person is ordered. First Utility First Utility are helping us to raise 250,000 so that we can support more children and families across the UK. First Utility created a webpage just for NSPCC staff so you can also see how much you could save on your energy. If you switch to First Utility directly via the NSPCC section on their website they'll donate 2 a month for 2 years, regardless of which tariff you switch to. This means a donation of 48 for every household. British Military Fitness British Military Fitness (BMF) offers all NSPCC colleagues 20% off their membership price. British Military Fitness is the UK s largest provider of outdoor hour-long fullbody fitness classes. They currently operate in 140 parks from Stirling to Southampton and have more than 13,000 members. BMF also offer low impact Walkfit sessions.

9 Membership can be set up online and there is no joining fee to pay. Hotpoint and Indesit Everyone loves getting a bargain, especially on those big ticket household appliances!
