4 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Geylang Methodist School (Primary) Registration Matters When is the period for registration? Is the space for SCC limited? Registration is open from 14 th November to 22 nd November Due to limited space, our capacity for enrolment is 60 students per session. What happens if the application exceeds 60 students per session? Is it on a first come first serve basis? All application forms are to be submitted to the school s General Office by 22 nd November In the event that the number of applications exceeds 60 per session, the school will assess each application on a case to case and priority basis. Parents will be notified on the 28 th of November on the application results via and phone call. What are the conditions that will be considered as priority basis? All other unsuccessful registrants will be queued in our "Waiting List. When an available vacancy opens up, we will then be able to inform and offer a place to those on our "Waiting List" in sequence. Do I need to make payment upon submitting the registration form? No. Payment will only be required upon successful application. Announcement will be made on the 28 th November 2016 via and phone call. The confirmation and payment period will be from 5 th to 9 th December If parent fail to confirm the slot during the payment period, the slot might be given to the next child in the waiting list.

5 Geylang Methodist School (Primary) Operations and Centre Matters Are we able to see the SCC before enrolment? As the school is currently undergoing upgrading works, the student care centre will be at an interim classroom for the first term. Renovation for the student care centre will begin in March 2017 and set to be complete in May The concept of the centre will follow all of our school based SCC designs eco inspired and homely design. Here are some sample pictures of our SCCs. When are your Opening Hours? In tandem to the school curriculum hours, our normal operating hours are: 7:30am 7.00pm, Mondays -- Fridays (Pupils will join the SCC activities after the end of curriculum time/supplementary if any) We are closed on Saturdays, Sundays, Government gazetted public holidays and for other 5.5 days for staff training. Kindly refer to our Academic Calendar for more details. Payments Matters How much do I have to pay for Student Care services? 6 Geylang Methodist School (Primary) When do I pay the monthly fees? Fees are payable before the 23 rd of each month. Are there other monthly costs I have to pay (e.g. materials fees, etc)? No. All fees are indicated as above. What is the 1-month deposit used for? The 1-month deposit is used to offset the final month of Student Care services. For example, Jonathan, a student decides to stop Student Care services. His parent notifies us 1 month in advance that he will stop coming after 30 September. The monthly fee for September shall be $0, the final month s fees shall be taken from the 1-month deposit. Failure to give 1 month notice will result in the deposit being forfeited. My child missed Student Care for 5 days this month. Can I pay less? / We are not attending student care during the school holidays. Can we not pay the monthly fees? All monthly fees are to be paid in full regardless of child s attendance. There are no proration of fees. Students under SCFA are to have a minimum 80% attendance. MSF might reject or suspend if attendance fall below the level. Programme Matters What is your Kidz Treehouse Student Care programme and how is your programme different? Here at Kidz Treehouse, we place a high emphasis on the holistic and character development of your child. Children immersed themselves in different monthly values such as respect, filial piety, responsibility and many more. (Please refer to our Parent Handbook for detailed Character Development Programme). All of our teachers are handpicked by the directors and conduct ourselves with the highest standard of Love, Care and Trust. Below is our daily time table filled with exciting and fun enrichments; How many teachers are there? As a Student Care licensed administrator, we follow closely all of MSF guidelines. Currently MSF ratio is at 1 teacher to every 25 students. To ensure higher standards, Kidz Treehouse ratio are usually lower at 1:20. Will the student care centre conduct tuition classes for the students? The focus of the centre is in developing the child s character. The centre do not provide tuition classes. However, during the study booster session, our teachers will conduct homework supervision and provide revision papers for children who do not have or have finished their school homework. Necessary guidance are given to the children while doing the work.
