It s important for us to have the most up-to-date beneficiary information on file for your applicable GE plans. Your beneficiary designations generally determine who will be entitled to a potential benefit, such as a life insurance payment. Navigating important life events and life changes such as becoming a parent (having or adopting a child), taking a military service leave, approaching retirement may mean changes in your benefit(s) needs. GE Payroll & Benefits now offers a series of Life Events tools that bring valuable information to you as you navigate the complex benefit decisions that accompany life s changes. The initial Life Events guides, You Are Expecting and Your Partner Is Expecting, have been available on since late You ll now find those along with the new As You Are Approaching Retirement under the Work, Life & Benefits Changes section of. Several new Life Events guides will be launching this fall, so check back for added topics! These Life Events tools guide you through what you need to know and what actions to take or consider regarding your GE benefits and pay during periods of change. They are part of the growing Life Events program that is designed to provide interactive checklists, links to websites, resources and more all in one place to help you navigate through life s planned or unexpected changes. You can let us know what you think via the Feedback tab in each Life Event to help us expand and enrich this program. Review and update your beneficiary designations at. As we continue to enhance the RSP My Retirement Getting There educational series, look for the following investment-related resources later this year: An Asset Allocation Quick Guide packed with information on a variety of topics, including basic information on asset classes, identifying your investment preferences and choosing an investment track that s right for you. A personalized Investment Checkup, which will show how your investment mix compares to a model portfolio and will explain some things to consider, like when you expect to retire and your risk tolerance, when reviewing your mix. An educational insert mailed with your quarterly statement and available online with tips and reminders about the different RSP investment tracks. (formerly benefits.ge.com) The OneHR portal helps you manage your benefits, pay, career and much more. The OneHR portal gives you a single destination to access your benefits and pay, manage your development, explore career opportunities, recognize your colleagues, and more. The new OneHR portal is interactive, intuitive and easy to use, with comprehensive information to guide you through key life events and one-click help features. As part of the global OneHR initiative, GE will introduce a new tool that will provide a summarized, printable view of your total compensation, benefits options, and other programs available to you as a GE employee. You ll be able to see your current choices and discover what else is available for you and your family. This new tool will be accessible on the OneHR portal in the first quarter of page 3

4 Military Leave support GE continues to offer an enhanced military pay benefit providing up to 35 months of differential pay when Reservists and National Guard service members are called to active duty. Help is available A new Leave of Absence help line has launched for employees and their families who have questions and concerns related to military leave. The new help line welcomes calls from military service employees and their family members. The help line can be reached at The new help line is staffed by a team of experts specially trained to help service members and their families. They can answer pay and benefits questions associated with military leaves, including actions that must be taken prior to departure, during the leave and upon return to work from a military leave of absence or military training. Application is simpler The forms and documents for GE Military Leave have recently been simplified and centralized, making it easier for employees to fulfill their active service obligations. A new Military Leave Checklist is now available to help navigate the complexity of taking a leave for active military duty or military training. Also, the updated GE Request for Military Duty Pay form is in a new location on OneHR ( > Important Resources > Benefits Forms & Documents > Managing Your Military Leave Obligations). Life can be stormy. When you re on the go, don t get caught without an umbrella. The GE Employee Personal Excess Liability (PEL) Program provides liability coverage in excess of your minimum home, auto, and watercraft policies liability limits. It can protect you from the less frequent, but more financially severe, claims that exceed the limits of your basic coverage. Coverage up to $5,000,000 is available for less than $1 per day! Enrollment election is required, and you can enroll at any time. Continue your education Balancing a busy life and getting back into the classroom can be challenging. GE offers valuable financial assistance to help you continue your education limits may apply and management approval is required. Tuition reimbursement is provided by the Individual Development Program, or IDP, if you are hourly, and through the Tuition Refund Program, if you are salaried. In addition to tuition costs, you may also receive up to $400 toward the cost of: Course application and registration; Textbooks and laboratory use; and Course-related software or library access.
