4 How To Know If You Are Eligible for Benefits Under the Affordable Care Act Adjunct Faculty are solely eligible for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) if they averaged 4.5 credits during the 4 term measurement period. (January- December of the same calendar year) OR have an FTE for 4 terms that is equal to or greater than.75 FTE. For more details please visit the HR website.

5 Health Insurance WPI offers four plans through Harvard Pilgrim Health Care High Deductible HMO with an option to enroll in an associated Health Savings Account HMO $1,000 Deductible HMO 20B PPO For more detailed information, please visit the HR website: or the Employee Resource Center.

8 Benefit Strategies-Flexible Spending Medical Care Account $2,500 Yearly Pre-Tax Maximum Medical care expenses are the amounts paid for the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease, and/or for treatments affecting any part or function of the body. These expenses include dental care, prescriptions, eyeglasses, and any out-of-pocket medical expenses that may not be covered by insurance premiums. Dependent Care Account $5,000 Yearly Pre-Tax Maximum Dependent Day Care Reimbursement needs to meet certain criteria: It must enable you and your spouse to be employed. The child must be under 13 years old and must be your dependent under federal tax rules. Services must be for the physical care of the child, not for education, meals, etc. Note: Expenses for overnight camps and kindergarten are not eligible for reimbursement.

9 Supplemental Benefits Continued Hyatt Legal Plan MetLaw provides you with telephone and office consultations for an unlimited number of matters with the attorney of your choice. VSP Supplemental Vision Plan

10 Retirement Eligibility is on the first day of the month following completion of at least 12 months of continuous service, if you are in the eligible class of participants for the employer match. Waiting period is waived for anyone with one year of continuous service as a non-student at any non-profit educational organization or teaching hospital, or already participating in TIAA/CREF immediately prior to the start of employment at WPI. Once eligible for the match, you must contribute 5% of your base salary, and WPI will contribute 11% of your base salary. With your 5% contribution, you are able to contribute to either TIAA/CREF or Fidelity Investments. Supplemental Retirement Accounts can be contributed to at any time; and are also through TIAA CREF and/or Fidelity.
