1 NCPERS 2014 Legislative Conference January Washington, DC REGISTER NOW! Including One-Day Health Care Symposium January 28
2 ABOUT THIS CONFERENCE The NCPERS Annual Legislative Conference directs the public pension industry s advocacy effort and legislative strategy to Congress and the Administration by offering sessions with Hill staff, Administration officials and Washington opinion makers on key issues on Capitol Hill and in federal regulatory agencies that affect pension funds today. WHO SHOULD ATTEND Pension trustees, union officials, administrators, pension staff members and companies that provide products and services to the public pension community should attend this conference. WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND The Legislative Conference provides you with a great opportunity to learn about the critical legislative and regulatory issues that affect your fund. It will equip you with the tools needed to deal with the political and legislative challenges that face your pension funds. Attend this conference and hear from experts on the critical issues related to pension funds and learn how to present your case to your legislators. Connect with other fund professionals and industry providers for practical information and lasting peer relationships. On the second day of the conference, meet-face-to-face with your elected leaders to discuss the legislative issues affecting your fund. Visit for a complete list of members of congress and to schedule your appointment today. LEGISLATIVE CONFERENCE FEATURED SPEAKER RON BROWNSTEIN Political Director, Atlantic Media Company Editorial Director and Columnist, National Journal Senior Political and Election Analyst for CNN As the political director of Atlantic Media Company, the editorial director of National Journal, and a senior political and election analyst for CNN, Ron Brownstein produces sharp analysis on politics, policy, the electorate, media, healthcare, and the range of issues informed by his strong sense of American political and national history. Twice a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, Brownstein was cited for the clarity, consistency, and quality of his political reporting. He appears regularly in the Atlantic and pens a bi-weekly column in National Journal and the Los Angeles Times. A prolific and penetrating columnist, Brownstein is, as the Washington Post called him one of the gold-plated names of political journalism who can still shape big-pictures conventional wisdom. Part journalist, part historian, and a shrewd political observer, Ron Brownstein will discuss the complexities of the current political environment and future of America.
