1 ONTARIO SECONDARY SCHOOL LITERACY TEST RESULTS: SCHOOLS IN THE TORONTO DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD Students Spring 2014 The attached list presents the results for each school in the Toronto District School Board for the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) administered in Spring Students who took the test were in Grade 10 (first-time eligible students) or in Grade 11/12 (previously eligible students). First-time eligible students entered Grade 9 during the school year and were required to write the OSSLT for the first time in Spring Students who were not successful in previous administrations of the OSSLT, or who were absent or deferred during those earlier administrations, became eligible to write the OSSLT again in Spring The results presented here are for previously eligible students. The overall results for the TDSB and for the province are included. Results are provided for two reporting methods. All previously eligible students includes all students who were absent, deferred or not successful during a previous administration, and who are working toward an OSSD. Exempted students (those not working toward an OSSD) are excluded. Fully participating students includes only those students who wrote the test for both sessions, and who were assigned an achievement result (successful, not successful). It excludes students who were exempted, deferred, or absent. This is the method that was used for the provincial release. The following statistics are provided: the number of students eligible to write the test in that school Participating the number of students fully participating in the OSSLT (if they were present for both sessions of the administration) the percentage of students who fully participated in the OSSLT, with results that met or exceeded the requirements the percentage of students who fully participated in the OSSLT, with results that did not meet the requirements the percentage of eligible students who were absent the percentage of eligible students who were deferred Taking the percentage of eligible students fulfilling requirement through the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course () To protect against the disclosure of personal information associated with individual student results, a series of suppression rules are implemented for the public release of OSSLT results. Statistics have been suppressed where the number of respondents is so low that individual results could be determined from the aggregate value.
