Visit the Retiree pages on the Employee Benefits website at NEXT ISSUE: FAQ VRS Health Credit Upcoming Events Open Enrollment October 15-November 15 For retirees, open enrollment is relevant to only those who are covered under, or have dependents who are covered under, the CIGNA POS or OAP plans. For these people, open enrollment provides an opportunity to move between the CIGNA POS and OAP plans. If you would like to make a change to your coverage during the Open Enrollment period: Complete a Retiree Enrollment/Change form and return it to Employee Benefits by November 15th. (Form can be found on the Employee Benefits website under Retiree Benefits.) Your change will go into effect on January 1st, Retirees may not add people to their plan but may cancel coverage at anytime, even outside of open enrollment. Any decision to cancel coverage is irrevocable Health Insurance Premiums Health insurance premiums will be changing for the 2013 calendar year. Each retiree will receive a customized premium statement in early December and the rates will also be posted on the LCPS Retiree website as soon as they are available. Depending on how you submit your payments, please consider the following: Autopay via your Bank You should update your premium with your bank before your January 2013 payment is sent. Payment via Check or Money Order You will continue to receive monthly invoices. January s invoice will reflect your new premium and payment is due, as always, by the 15th of the month. Payment via your VRS check Your rates will be updated automatically for you. (This option is only available to retirees under the Humana Medicare plan.)

2 P A G E 2 Flu Shots Flu season is fast approaching and LCPS will be offering flu shots again this year. Flu shots will be free for Retirees and the fee for family members will be $23. Payment can be made at the time of service via cash, check or charge. Please be sure to bring your retiree badge with you. If you do not have a retiree badge, come by the to have one made. 3 P A G E 3 CIGNA Vaccine Update CIGNA now offers you the ability to receive vaccines at certain pharmacies near you- with the added convenience of the pharmacy submitting the bill directly with CIGNA for payment! The following list of pharmacies participate in this program. This list is not all inclusive so, if you do not see your pharmacy listed, call them to see if they participate. CVS/pharmacy Giant Eagle Harris Teeter Ride Aid Safeway Shoppers Pharmacy Target Walgreens CIGNA participants have a new option for receiving vaccinations! What to do: 1. Contact your pharmacy to see if they have your vaccine in stock. 2. Have the vaccine administered at the pharmacy. 3. Present your CIGNA card to the pharmacy at the time of service. One of the vaccines you can obtain through this program that is not commonly stocked by doctors - the shingles vaccine. To be eligible for the shingles vaccine you must be age 60 or older OR have had a prior occurrence of shingles. ***Humana participants can already receive their vaccinations at a pharmacy for a $15 copay. Press 0 for Service! Don t have time to navigate through the insurance companies automated voice systems? Well here s a helpful hint. You may press 0 at anytime during the recording and you will be redirected to a live person! This applies to Humana, CIGNA, Medco, Delta Dental and Davis Vision.

5 P A G E 5 Wellness Passports The first year for the new Retiree Wellness Works! Passport is coming to a close. Don t forget to complete your Passport and turn it in to receive your $120 reward! Key Points: The program runs on a calendar year. You must complete a Health Assessment. You must earn 60 points in each of the categories. Employee Benefits must receive your completed passport no later than January 31, 2013; services must be rendered prior to December 31, Upon successful completion, your check for $120 will be mailed to your home by March 31, Lost your passport? Contact Employee Benefits at to request one be sent to you. Next year s Wellness Works! Passport (2013) will be included with your customized 2013 health insurance premium notice to be mailed in early December. Don t Forget!! Wellness Works! Passports for 2012 are due to Employee Benefits by January 31, Services must be rendered by December 31, VRS Retiree Accounts - myvrs Wondering what your retiree benefits are under VRS? The answers are at your fingertips! Simply go to and select myvrs Access in the upper left and then Retirees. Click on register if it is your first time accessing your online account. From myvrs you can.. Confirm the direct deposit of your retirement payment. See your COLA and income tax deductions. Change your income tax deductions. Review your VRS health credit amount. View your life insurance coverage. Print tax documents for income tax filing purposes. If you need assistance with myvrs contact VRS at or use their online help screens. The help link can be found at the bottom of any screen. **VRS will be performing a system upgrade October 25 - November 5; myvrs will not be available during that time.
