1 North Carolina State University Administrative Procedures Manual Chart of Accounts Revenues Accounts * codes are restricted for Office of Finance and Business Sales and Services Revenues of Auxiliary Enterprises and Independent Operations: Includes financial resources generated by operations involving the sales of merchandise and the rendering of services by the institution's student related auxiliaries (see purpose 200 Student Auxiliaries and its constituent purposes), institutional related auxiliaries (see purpose 210 Institutional Auxiliaries and its constituent purposes), and independent operations (see purpose 220 Independent Operations and its constituent purposes). Its use is compatible only with those operations. This account excludes revenues which meet the definitions of other revenue accounts and which are indicated as compatible with auxiliary operations. Such revenue accounts include 0150 Athletic Fees, 0180 Indebtedness Fees, 0710 Bad Receivables Collected, and 0720 Investment Income Administrative Revenues: Includes financial resources generated by the Auxiliary Enterprise Central Administrative Services. Those revenues are earned by rendering administrative and managerial services to the auxiliary units Campus Center Revenues: Includes financial resources generated by the University Student Center. Revenues can include sales of tickets, income from rentals, sales, services and fees. It excludes student fee revenues identified in subsidiary revenue source 0170 Activity fees Food Service Meal Plan Revenue: Includes financial resources generated by University Dining specifically related to meal plans Food Service Revenues: Includes financial resources generated by the University Dining System. Revenues may be generated from the sale of food in dining halls, cafeterias, snack bars, vending machines, lunchrooms and by catering Coin Operated Laundry: d to record coin operated laundry receipts which are not an official part of NCSU laundry operations NCSU Bookstores Revenues: Includes financial resources generated by NCSU Bookstores. Revenues may include sale of books and supplies, from the rental of equipment, and from other sales and services Health Service Revenues: Includes financial resources generated by Clark Infirmary. The revenues include the selling of medications and from rendering professional services. Excluded from this revenue source are required student fees identified in minor revenue source code Housing Service Revenues: Includes financial resources generated by the University Housing System. The primary source of revenue will be rental income. Other revenues may include charges fro damages to property, forfeiture of deposits.

2 40421 Student Housing Dorm Regular Rents: Includes financial resources generated from regular dormitory rental Student Housing Dorm Extra Rents: Includes financial resources generated from rental of dormitory facilities and not identified in revenue source code Included in this subsidiary revenue source are rental receipts from groups such as 4 H clubs, Future Farmers of America, sports camps participants, etc Student Housing Other Dorm Receipts: Includes financial resources generated from NCSU dormitory operations not elsewhere identified Student Housing Married Student Housing Rent: Includes financial resources generated from the rental of Married Student Housing apartments Compensated Occupants Damages Married Student Housing: Includes financial resources generated from residents of the Married Student Housing Apartments for damages to the housing facility Student Housing Fraternities/Sororities: Includes financial resources generated from rental of the Fraternity or Sorority Housing facility Student Housing Summer Conference: Includes financial resources generated from student housing for the summer conference Other Housing Revenues: Includes financial resources generated by the NCSU Housing System not elsewhere identified. Examples of revenue included in this subsidiary revenue source are properties identified as Friendly Drive, Fincastle Apartments, Vanderbilt Avenue, etc Recreational Revenues: Includes financial resources generated by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Revenues within this minor source primarily originate from ticket sales, guarantees from other schools for game participation, radio/television receipts, ACC and NCAA Conference distributions. Specifically excluded are required student fees identified as minor revenue source Football Ticket Sales: Includes financial resources generated from the sale of football tickets for admission to intercollegiate home football games Guarantees Away Basketball Games: Includes financial resources generated from participation in intercollegiate basketball games at other schools Basketball Ticket Sales: Includes financial resources generated from the sale of basketball tickets for admission to intercollegiate home basketball games Guarantees Away Basketball Games: Includes financial resources generated from participation in intercollegiate basketball games at other schools Football TV: Includes financial resources generated by the ACC Conference distribution to NCSU and identified by the Conference as having been earned from ACC football game appearances on television by Atlantic Coast Conference schools Basketball TV: Includes financial resources generated by the ACC Conference distribution to NCSU and identified by the Conference as having been earned from ACC basketball game appearances on television by Athletic Coast Conference schools.

3 40437 ACC Distribution: Includes financial resources generated from distributions other than television revenues made by the Atlantic Coast Conference. The amount is determined by the ACC Conference and primarily earned from bowl game appearances, and the Atlantic Coast Conference Basketball Tournament NCAA Distribution: Includes financial resources generated from distributions made by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The amount of distribution is determined by the NCAA and is earned by ACC member schools participating in the NCAA Tournament. Revenues include ticket sales and television/radio receipts Other Recreational Revenues: Includes financial sources generated by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and not identified in subsidiary revenue sources 0431 through Sales and Service Fees Reclass: Account code used by the business office only Central Stores Revenue: Includes financial resources generated by NCSU Central Stores operations. Revenues result from the sale of supplies and materials, rendering of services Creamery Service Revenue: Includes financial resources generated by Creamery operations. It includes revenues from the sale of milk, other dairy products, and charges for providing creamery services to other users Wolfcopy Service: Includes receipts from copying and laser printing services to departments and students Printing Service Revenue: Includes financial resources generated by the NCSU University Graphics operation. It includes revenues from the sale of printing, duplicating, reproduction, photography, binding, and related services. Specifically excluded are revenues for copy services identified in revenue source code Copy Center Revenue: Includes financial resources generated by NCSU Copy Centers operated by University Graphics. Revenues are from the sale of copying, reproducing, and duplicating services or similar activities Rental Property Revenues: Includes financial resources generated from rental property. It includes rental income originating from faculty and staff use of rental property Vehicle Registration Revenues: Includes financial resources generated from operations of the University Parking System. Included is the income from vehicle registration for faculty, staff and students, parking fees and fines, sale of bus tickets for Wolfline, etc Vehicle Registration and Sales: Includes financial resources generated by the sale of vehicle registrations to faculty, staff and students, and other special types of registrations Meter Income: Includes financial resources generated by receipts from parking meters Parking Fines: Includes financial resources generated by the collection of parking fines CAT and TTA Passes: Includes financial resources generated by receipts from sale of CAT and TTA passes.

4 40456 Transportation Internal Suspense: d internally by the NCSU Division of Transportation NCSU Wolfline Tickets: Includes financial resources generated from the sale of Wolfline bus tickets Paylot Income: Includes financial resources generated by Dan Allen paylot and Hillsborough Square paylot Miscellaneous Transportation Income: Includes financial resources generated by the Parking System and not identified in the subsidiary revenue source codes through Reynolds Coliseum Revenue: Includes financial resources generated from operation of Reynolds Coliseum. Revenues consist primarily of building rentals Basketball Regular: Includes financial resources generated by rental income from the department of Intercollegiate Athletics for NCSU home basketball games played at Reynolds Coliseum Basketball Tournaments: Includes financial resources generated by rental income from governing sponsors of the Tournament. Included would be sectional, regional, or final basketball games involving NCAA Tournaments, NIT Tournaments, or similar tournament action Extra Events Revenue: Includes financial resources generated from ticket sales from commercial events held within the Reynolds Coliseum. Included are revenues for concerts Building Rentals (Coliseum): Includes financial resources generated from contractual agreements for use of the Coliseum property. There are no ticket sales involved with this revenue. Included are revenues from Friends of the College Concert Series, sports camps, commencement exercises, student registrations, etc Gym Memberships: Includes financial resources generated from gym memberships Miscellaneous Revenue (Coliseum): Includes financial resources generated from activities not specifically identified in subsidiary revenue source codes 0461 through Laundry Service Revenues: Includes financial resources generated by the NCSU Laundry. It includes sales of cleaning, pressing, ironing, linen rental, and laundering services Personal Laundry: Includes financial resources generated from the sale of laundry services Clothesline: Includes financial resources generated from the sale of prepaid laundry services to students Laundromat Transfer: Includes financial resources generated from coin operated Laundromat machines. Receipts are subsequently transferred into operating accounts and classified accordingly Other Laundry Revenues: Includes financial resources generated from operations of the NCSU Laundry and not identified by subsidiary revenue source codes 0471 through 0478.

5 40480 Telephone Service Revenues: Includes financial resources generated by NCSU Telecommunications Telephone Service: Includes resources generated from use of normal dial tone telephones Telephone Service: Includes resources generated from caller id / directory assistance Cable TV: Includes resources generated from use of cable television provided by NCSU Data Lines: Includes resources generated from use of data lines in transport of electronic data Equipment Rental/Sales: Includes resources generated by the rental/sales of telephone equipment Cellular Phones: Includes resources generated from use of cellular phones provided by the telephone company Pagers: Includes resources generated from use of pagers provided by NCSU Service Charges: Includes resources generated from service charges from installation, repairs, materials, etc Other Charges: Includes resources generated from sources other than described in (e.g. coin phones, directories, etc.) Infrastructure Revenue: Includes receipts from contributions from campus colleges, offices and auxiliaries, allocations from the University and revenues generated by the resale of communication goods and services to students and campus departments in Student Telecommunications Resale Services and Academic/Administrative Communication Services Sales and Service Revenue Elimination: Includes year end entries performed by the Controller's office.
