1 CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WILDWOOD 7.a EXECUTIVE SUMMARY SUBJECT: Waste Management FY18 Mid-Year Rate Adjustment REQUESTED ACTION: Approval of Resolution R CONTRACT: Effective Date : 4/1/2018 Managing Division / Dept: Vendor/Entity: Termination Date: BUDGET IMPACT: HISTORY/FACTS/ISSUES: Pursuant to the contract with Waste Management, the fees charged are subject to a semiannual adjustment for fuel costs. At this time, Waste Management is submitting the rate adjustment, which reflects an increase in the rates charged. For a residential customer with one cart, the rate will increase from $17.34 to $17.38, an increase of $.04/mo. The attached schedule outlines all proposed charges. Packet Pg. 81
2 7.a RESOLUTION NO. R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WILDWOOD, FLORIDA PROVIDING FOR INCREASES TO THE SOLID WASTE USER CHARGE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RESCINDING RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City has contracted with Waste Management to provide for solid waste Disposal service; and, WHEREAS, the contract provides that Waste Management can request a semi-annual rate adjustment based on fuel costs, and WHEREAS, the City of Wildwood is the authority who sets the price for solid waste disposal Services. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Commission of the City of Wildwood, Florida: SECTION 1. The rate for solid waste user charges shall be revised as indicated in Exhibit A. SECTION 2. These rates and charges supersede any previous rates established by the City Commission of the City of Wildwood, Florida. SECTION 3.
