2 Welcome to Aussie Hoops a fun, inclusive structured introductory basketball program aimed at 5-10 year olds, with graded increases in competitiveness until participants are ready to transition into local club competitions. Your role as a local association is to help us grow our great game, and through this three-way partnership with your State/Territory Association, we aim to provide the most current marketing, administration and coaching resources to our Aussie Hoops Centres supporting them to achieve that. Our goal is to develop local associations and other affiliated providers to provide the most effective and consistent participation pathway at an introductory level, and we re confident that Aussie Hoops can be the most effective program to transition new 5-10 year old participants into local competitions during 2016 and beyond. The Aussie Hoops Program has been developed in such a way that it can be delivered by local basketball associations or clubs, private providers, schools or professional basketball clubs in Australia. Five easy steps will see you delivering Aussie Hoops: 1. We have created a simple online application process on our Aussie Hoops website. 2. Expressions of interest to deliver Aussie Hoops are reviewed by the relevant State/Territory Association and Basketball Australia. 3. Once approved, the prospective centre works with their State/Territory Association to ensure they can achieve Best Practice Delivery. 4. The accredited centre is assisted to set-up their Aussie Hoops database, including the set-up of accounts, payments and programs. 5. The accredited centre receives the resources and information required to effectively promote and deliver Aussie Hoops programs. We encourage accredited Aussie Hoops local centres to update their Fox Sports Pulse login and contact details regularly to provide us alongside your State/Territory Association with accurate data and contact details for communications.

3 Aussie Hoops has been designed in three staged programs to ensure that for each age group, participants are participating in drills and games that are relevant to their physical and mental capabilities. These staged programs have been developed as a guide to effective delivery and may be adopted as individual programs or as groups within each programs. 5-6 year olds 7-8 year olds 9-10 year olds Whilst it is important for Centres to have a core Aussie Hoops program that is equally enjoyable for boys and girls, Aussie Hoops Centres may also offer a girls-specific program. All other aspects of a girls-specific program with regard to resources, price and equipment should be the same as per a coeducational Aussie Hoops program (Rookie, Starter, All-Star). Aussie Hoops Coaches should be accredited as Community level Coaches or higher (under the National Coach Accreditation Scheme) prior to coaching an Aussie Hoops program. Your State/Territory Association can provide further information on coach education opportunities in your area. Aussie Hoops Coaches will be provided Aussie Hoops coaching resources to deliver sessions that are synced to the National Basketball Coaching Curriculum. Resources include the Rookie, Starter and All Star session cards, as well as Coaches Corner articles in the Aussie Hoops Newsletter and information distributed at Aussie Hoops coaching clinics. In order to make life easier for the Aussie Hoops Centre, we have developed an Aussie Hoops online registration system and membership database that are used for registering your participants. Basketball Australia will run competitions exclusive to participants registered online including (but not limited to) meet and greet opportunities with Boomers, Opals and WNBL players. Insurance for Affiliated Member Associations Insurance cover for the Aussie Hoops program will be covered by your State/Territory Association, including:

4 Public & Products Liability Insurance Professional Indemnity Insurance Personal Accident Insurance Insurance for all other deliverers As part of the accreditation process, a Certificate of Currency needs to be supplied to your State/Territory Association establishing the local centre s coverage of: Public Liability Insurance Professional Indemnity Insurance Accident Insurance Responsibilities Your State Aussie Hoops Coordinator should be able to provide you with further details on the level of insurance cover for coaches and participants of the Aussie Hoops program. We encourage that you regularly provide feedback to your State/Territory Association to identify program improvement opportunities. Each local centre is welcome to participate in the annual program review, which is important for us to understand the changing challenges and successes being achieved at a community level that help us to refine and improve the program for associations and families. Basketball Australia will, for the first time, have a naming rights partner for the national Aussie Hoops program and as such will need the assistance of Aussie Hoops Centres to meet requirements of its partners such as signage display and marketing/promotion initiatives. Basketball Australia understands that local sponsorship is important to a local centre s operations and development and broadly supports centres providing its sponsors the ability to leverage or promote across a locally delivered Aussie Hoops program. Centres should work with their State/Territory Association to make sure that localised sponsorships do not affect any national program partners. 5 Basketball Australia will provide the local centre with a range of support including, but not limited to, the below: Recognition Recognition on the Our Partners section of the Aussie Hoops website. Education and Training Education and training assistance in transferring from the old registration process to the new Aussie Hoops registration system and on how to take and manage online payments. Access to an online Aussie Hoops coaching course, commensurate to the Community Coach level. Digital Support and Resources Access to a dedicated Aussie Hoops website, as well as Aussie Hoops social media platforms. Access to a market-leading online registration and payment gateway. Access to database collation, segmentation and reporting capabilities. Ability to access and share official Aussie Hoops social media content Centres and family access to competitions and marketing promotions including: Aussie Hooper of the Week In the Spotlight Centre Profiles Participant Packs High quality and durable participant packs. Participant Packs Co-branding Aussie Hoops Centres may co-brand their Aussie Hoops singlets once received subject to the following: When: After payment and delivery via the online store, but before distribution to participants. Who: Co-branding must be completed by the local centre, and not by parents or participants. Size: The logo is not to exceed 25 square centimetres (see below). Design: The logo design is approved by Basketball Australia prior to application, and should have a transparent background. Placement: The logo is placed on the bottom right corner of the green and/or yellow side of the singlet, in line with the Aussie Hoops logo (see attached). Cost: To be sourced and paid for by the local centre. Material: Screen printed or high-quality rubber press.

Aussie Hoops coaches Tee-Shirts provided to all registered and accredited coaches. Broad promotional benefits from national advertising and promotional campaigns. A professionally designed co-branded logo representing the new Aussie Hoops logo and the local centres logo. Events Additional benefits to being an Aussie Hoops Centre and having participants and coaches registered online include: Prioritised consideration for involvement in National Team events in Australia including game-interval activations. Additional consideration towards any bid to host an Australian Junior Championships event. Opportunity to participate in game-interval activations for the WNBL and SEABL Grand Finals, as well as selected WNBL & SEABL regular season games. Free entry for accredited coaches of the local centre to any Basketball Australia Community Coaching Clinics.

7 Sporting Schools Recognition as an endorsed deliverer of the Aussie Hoops program through Sporting Schools (where the Centre is delivering a modified Aussie Hoops program with approved resources). To provide consistent, best practice programs nationally we need Aussie Hoops Centres to assist by: Adopting the Aussie Hoops program as their principal program for marketing the sport to new participants in the 5-10 year old age bracket, and not delivering any other introductory basketball programs that are 5-10 year old skill focused programs delivered weekly outside of school hours. NB: The local centre may deliver camps or clinics that may be conducted over one to seven days as these camps or clinics are not considered to be in direct competition with the Aussie Hoops program, and Under 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 competitions can be run as they are game focused competitions. Making sure that all participants are registered into the centre s Aussie Hoops Fox Sports Pulse database. Only referring to and advertising the program with the local centre name followed by the words Aussie Hoops for example Bayside Aussie Hoops. The use of a local centre nickname is also permitted where appropriate, for example Thunderbolts Aussie Hoops or Hawks Aussie Hoops. Only using Aussie Hoops resources including apparel, merchandise, templates, logos and guides for the delivery and promotion of the Aussie Hoops program. Please refer to the Aussie Hoops brand guidelines for further information on the correct use of these resources. Delivering their programs in line with the Aussie Hoops Best Practice Delivery standards outlined yearly where they have the capacity to do so. Where an Aussie Hoops Centre is not able to deliver their program in line with the above requirements, we want to work with you to understand and help fix any issues that allow you to deliver a quality Aussie Hoops program. Withdrawing an Aussie Hoops local centre s accreditation is a last resort. Whilst we know you ll enjoy being a part of the ever-growing Aussie Hoops program, you should notify both your State/Territory Association and Basketball Australia if you wish to discontinue your involvement with the Aussie Hoops program.

8 Each local centre may select its prices for New and Returning participants from the flexible pricing model below, endorsed by all State and Territory Members of Basketball Australia. These prices need to include the relevant fees outlined in the Program Fees section. Pricing will be reviewed annually upon national program review by Basketball Australia with the State and Territory Member Associations, and local centres will be advised of any changes to program fees and pricing recommendations. New Participant (Program & Aussie Hoops Participant Pack): Maximum recommended retail price $ Recommended Retail Price $85.00 Returning Participant (Program only): Maximum recommended retail price $80.00 Recommended Retail Price $65.00 The fee structure for the 2015/16 financial year is outlined below, please note all figures include GST. Payments are typically split and deposited into each party s account within 48 hours of registration. Payable during Participant Registration, automatically withdrawn during online registration: Basketball Australia participant fee $2.20 State/Territory Association participant fee Varies by State/Territory, as per 14/15. Fox Sports Pulse transaction fee 3.9% of total payment (minimum $1.00) When selecting a preference, we recommend that local centres make the 3.9% transaction fee inclusive of the advertised cost to families, rather than an additional fee. Payable after New Participant Registration, by Local Centre: Each New Participant of the Aussie Hoops program should receive their participant pack at their first session, which the local centre should purchase in bulk prior to each program. 9 Indemnity The Local Centre hereby indemnifies and agrees to keep indemnified Basketball Australia against any Claim which may be made against Basketball Australia in respect of: personal injury, illness or death of the Personnel except to the extent that such injury, illness or death is caused by Basketball Australia; personal injury, illness or death of any person where the personal injury, illness or death is caused by or results from the negligence or fault of the Local Centre or the Personnel; loss of or damage to any property owned, hired or supplied by the Local Centre, or the Personnel including the Local Centre's equipment where the loss or damage is caused by or results from the negligence of the Local Centre or Personnel; and any property where the loss or damage is caused by or results from the negligence or fault of the Local Centre or the Personnel. Neither party will be liable to the other for any indirect or consequential expenses, losses, damages or costs incurred or awarded against the other party. Nothing in this Agreement shall be considered or interpreted as constituting the Local Centre nor the Personnel as being an employee, servant or agent of Basketball Australia. Privacy The protection of personal information is important to Basketball Australia. Basketball Australia has established a registration database to collect, store and disclose participant details, including personal information. Basketball Australia, and the Basketball Australia registration database, handle personal information in compliance with the privacy laws and the Basketball Australia privacy policy. The Basketball Australia registration database operates such that only personal information held by Basketball Australia that is relevant to a Local Centre is able to be accessed by, and disclosed to, the Local Centre via the database. All disclosures of personal information by Basketball Australia via the database to the Local Centre are in accordance with the Basketball Australia privacy policy. All such disclosures are made on the basis that the Local Centre agrees at all times to handle the personal information in accordance with the Basketball Australia privacy policy and the relevant privacy laws. In circumstances where the Local Centre uses or discloses personal information otherwise than in accordance with the Basketball Australia privacy policy, the Local Centre will immediately notify Basketball Australia, and shall take such steps to remedy the situation as Basketball Australia may reasonably direct. The Local Centre shall indemnify Basketball Australia against any loss or damage arising from such improper disclosure.
