Minutes of the previous AGM were approved by Ashfield and seconded by Durham. There was one matter arising from the minutes regarding dual registration which had been changed to multi club registration. EIHA BRIEFING Tony Oliver told the meeting that at their annual AGM Ken Taggart had stated that the last year had been very successful in many areas. The EIHA continued to make progress with the rec section with numbers of players and teams increasing. Coaching and refereeing courses had been well attended. There were no questions. CHAIRMANS REPORT See attached. There were no questions. ADMINISTRATORS REPORT See attached John Hubble of Slough Tornado s requested a full copy of the insurance policy made available to him. Regarding insurance, the Chairman explained that the rec section being the only section to have person to person liability. TREASURERS REPORT Neville Moralee explained that rec money given to EIHA who give it back for annual tournament and subsequent expenses. Our balance standing at 1700 at moment. He explained that the EIHA does not get any funding and is totally self financing., there being a slight surplus last year, gross 10,000 on turnover of 1/3 of million. Fees remaining same as last year Full accounts available from Bill Britton. It was announced that next season audited report to be sent to teams [and appointed person] who are members of the EIHA association. The Chairman announced that he would, within two weeks, make sure that everyone is registered as a shareholder with the EIHA.

3 ELECTION OF OFFICERS There being no nominations it was proposed that Tony Boynton [Chairman] and Linda Matthews [Game Co-ordinator] be re-elected for a further three years. Both carried unanimously. POINTS FOR DISCUSSION RAISED BY LONDON DEVILS Insurance policy. It was suggested that before a newcomer steps onto ice he/she signs and dates a registration form. Player would be covered by insurance. This would allow the player a maximum of two practices to see if suitable for team. Annual registration fees. The fees for 2003/4 remained at 30 per player. Notification of changes would be announced at the EIHA AGM in July. Discipline. It was suggested that Simon Anderson take over dealing with discipline of players. Also suggested that stats from game sheets to go on website. Non-checking issues If a team wishes to play non-checking a box should be ticked on website. The Chairman announced that if, for any reason, officials had not turned up for a game, with Mr Ashraff s/game co-ordinators permission, the two captains to officiate the game. The Chairman announced that if any person wished to organise a tournament then to approach the executive committee with a budget. Dave Hector of Swindon Panthers suggested that the person organising tournament to send the rules and regulations to the committee a few months beforehand for clarification. Classification of games The Chairman clarified that a game is classed as using a game sheet, giving out penalties and using officials.. Scrimmage is not recording penalties, no scoreboard and not posing stats on website and is not classed as a game. Referees The Chairman explained the reason for the high cost of officials was the lack of them. Set structure being, for a three man system, 20, 10 and 10 or 20 and 20 for two man system plus 35p per mile for travelling.

4 Review size of Executive Committee The Chairman asked for votes to elect Tony Wood and Simon Anderson to the Executive. Nominated by Ashfield Avalance and seconded by Swindon Panthers that Tony and Simon be elected to the executive committee. Passed unanimously. Also for Ritchie Clark to be co-opted onto the Executive for one year. Nominated by Milton Keynes Jesters, seconded by Durham City Dragons. Passed unanimously. ANY OTHER BUSINESS A letter had been received from Crowtree Bandits asking for their name to be changed to Newcastle Preditors. Passed. 6 To The Chairman & Members of The E.I.H.A. Recreation Section. ADMINISTRATORS & REGISTRATION / INSURANCE REPORT 2002 / 2003 Following the EIHA Executive s decision to fix the Registration Fee at 30.00, we were advised that the Insurance Policies linked to this were to be subjected to a significant increase. This was nothing to do with the Recreation Section, but the moves within the Insurance business generally f towards Liability cover following Sept 11 th. The Section s membership has continued to increase there are 52 clubs affiliated with in excess of 1300 members. The scheme has been relatively trouble free to administer. I have had a couple of complaints regarding the weekly amount paid for Personal Injury Insurance. When the present system was purchased we made a conscious decision to introduce a scheme which gave an adequate level of cover for both Liability & Personal Injury at a reasonable cost. It must be remembered that only a proportion of the 30 covers Insurance Premium. If members need Insurance to cover loss of income, this is a specialist branch which they need to obtain independently and is usually expensive. It is of great concern to me that the majority of claims made are for dental treatment, several of these were for in excess of 1,000. The number of these claims registered could be significantly reduced if legislation was introduced to enforce the use of facial protection or exclude facial / dental cover if protection is not worn. This is a Health & Safety issue which we need to seriously consider. I have over this year dealt with numerous enquiries, complaints from members. As I have done for the past 15 years I have tried to deal with each issue as fairly as possible based on the circumstances involved. The issue of free licences to holders of Coaching / Referees Licences has over the year been abused in a small number of cases. To qualify the applicant must be the holder of A VALID & CURRENT LICENCE ISSUED BY THE EIHA, and not just an honorary title of TEAM COACH. At the present time I have not been advised of the renewal term of the Insurance Policies, it has therefore been impossible to fix the Renewal rates for the forthcoming year. Please consider renewals at 30 per member, if this increases the balance will be invoiced at a later date. Registration Application Forms still present a number of problems. Full Christian names are not being used e.g. Tom not Thomas. Categories are not being stated correctly e.g. all B or C categories must show both the previous Club and Team to which they were attached. All applications must be made on the recently revised Application Form, photographs used must be standard sized passport photos ( name on back ), not mini digital photos or faces cut from snapshots. Any which do not comply will be returned. One cheque for the total amount and not individual cheques. Show return name and address on the back of each cheque sent to me. Please ensure there is enough postage on each package to cover the weight. I had to pay 2.60 for an envelope with one First Class stamp on. Send packages to me by First Class Post, please do not use Recorded Delivery, Registered Post or Special Deliveries. Contrary to popular believe, I work full time and I am not at home when the post is delivered. I would like to thank Tony B, John, Linda and the other members of the Management Committee for their continued support over the year. It is everyone pulling together that makes the Section work.
