Capital adequacy, valuation concerns, anti-money laundering, data privacy requirements these and other issues will affect hedge fund managers. At the same time, national regulators are showing increasing acceptance of hedge funds and products that utilize hedge fund techniques. Witness the creation in many European countries of local hedge funds. On the demand side, more and more investors are becoming aware of the potential for achieving positive returns from hedge funds as well as capital preservation. On the supply side, manufacturers are beginning to provide market specific solutions to investors needs within the hedge fund space. What does all this mean?
