3 Highlights of the FY15 Budget Process We Listened! Introducing-New and Enhanced Budget Work-papers!
4 Overall Changes from FY 2014 (Much based on YOUR feedback) Detailed worksheets required for fewer income & expense categories (e.g. Tuition, Payroll, Fund Raising, etc.) Simplified checklist format to accompany lengthier instructions and remove all instructions from workbook Removed print tab More flexibility in expanding columns and adding rows to accommodate particular parish and school needs. Use QB standard COA when entering data to be consistent with Annual and Interim reporting
5 Overall Changes from FY Continued Allow for forecasting by month OR year Provide CY personnel information to aid in budget preparation for next year Removal of a number of auxiliary schedules Minimizing of duplication of work by allowing for entry of data into QB and exporting to workbook Allow submission by parish or school on Right Networks Show formulas Set up central for budget questions and FAQ aid

7 3 Step Process 1. Prepare workbook schedules 2. Enter budget into QuickBooks and export to workbook 3. Submit online for review by VAC via RN Desktop
8 Modified Accrual Accounting is Here Effective for 7/1/2014 (FY2015) Expenses should budgeted as expected to be incurred (Invoice must be entered and reflected as an expense in the year to which it relates) Payroll Expense should represent 26 pay periods Partial period accruals are not required. Tuition and other receivables should be recorded as paid or reflect net collectability if recorded as earned.
