1 IMPORTANT WRESTLING SCALE CERTIFICATION INFORMATION TO: FROM: ATHLETIC DIRECTORS ALAN BESTE, ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR DATE: AUGUST 22, 2011 RE: WRESTLING SCALE CERTIFICATION Dear Athletic Director, IT S MANDATORY WRESTLING SCALES ARE CERTIFIED BEFORE BEING USED FOR OFFICIAL WEIGH-INS. To assist you in getting your wrestling scale certified, the Athletic Association has arranged for scale certification companies across the state to certify wrestling scales. To schedule an appointment to have your wrestling scale(s) certified, contact a company listed on the enclosure and arrange a time for them to come to your school. CONTACTING A SCALE CERTIFICATION COMPANY BEFORE SEPTEMBER 23 WILL GENERALLY RESULT IN A REDUCED PRICE FOR SCALE CERTIFICATION! Upon certifying your scale, the company will provide you with a label or letter indicating your scale has been certified. The Athletic Association does NOT need to receive a copy of this certification verification. It is to be kept on file at the school. If more than routine certification of your scale is needed please inform the scale personnel when you schedule for certification. 2 IOWA HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION SCALE CERTIFICATION PERSONNEL, The following scale companies (listed alphabetically by company) are available to certify school wrestling scales. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU CONTACT A COMPANY BY SEPTEMBER 23, 2011 SO THEY CAN BEGIN PLANNING THEIR SCHEDULE FOR SCALE CERTIFICATION. If they can schedule multiple schools in an area for the same day, there is generally a reduced rate. If they are not contacted by September 23, and/or a special trip is required, an additional fee may very well be charged for scale certification. IT IS THE SCHOOL S RESPONSIBILITY TO HAVE SOMEONE AVAILABLE TO HELP AT THE TIME OF TESTING. AARON SCALE SYSTEMS, INC.
