5 About FINCA Haïti 1989 Foundation of FINCA Haiti FINCA was first established in 1989 by John Hatch in the southern side of Haiti, Les Cayes. At this time we offered village banking loans which enabled merchants with no collateral to access credit Before the earthquake FINCA Haiti had 10 branches nationwide before the earthquake and clients. We offered Village Banking Loans and Individual Loans After the earthquake After the earthquake The earthquake destroyed two of our ten branches and the entire portfolio for those branches was written off. All of our branches and clients were severely affected FINCA Haiti: Operations Re-launch In August 2012 FINCA Haiti restructures operations from an NGO to a commercial entity (Society Anonym). With the appointment of a new Management Team with a mandate to rebuild the institution and establish a broader business model, while staying truthful to the core mission aspect of improving the livelihood of low income clients through the provision of financial services from Re-launch to Sustainability After 3.5 years of rebuilding and restructuring we have 8 branches across the country with a portfolio of 9.7 Million USD and clients and a PAR30 of 1.5% as of December % of FINCA Haiti s clients are women. We now offer four products and have empowered our clients to make mobile payments. 5

13 Background Goal: Expand FINCA s reach in remote areas at low cost and increase convenience for clients + test branchless banking strategy Process: FINCA clients can repay their loans free using Digicel s Mobile Money (Mon Cash) Service started in 2013 with little uptake => From August 2015 April 2016 a team of 3 consultants are helping FINCA with financial support of SCBF 13

18 Thomas Louiny, AKA Poze at the start was selling water in the streets using his bicycle.. He had 7 cycle in a village banking group and now is on his 3rd cycle of Individual Loan. Mr. Louiny had now a store of beverages, food and more. FINCA is my best partner 18
