Incumbents running for re-election are: Doug Miller, Dr. Bryon Schaefer and Joe Drew. Mr. Doug Miller, Director After serving two years on the Supervisory Committee, Mr. Douglas Miller was elected to the Kern Schools Federal Credit Union Board of Directors in He now serves on the Facilities Committee, CUSO Services Committee and Asset Liability Committee. Mr. Miller provided thirty-seven (37) years of service in the Panama-Buena Vista Union School District as a teacher, principal, personnel director, Deputy Superintendent and Superintendent. He also served on many boards related to education and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Bakersfield ARC. Dr. Bryon Schaefer, Director Dr. Bryon Schaefer is currently the Superintendent for the Kern High School District. With the Kern High School District, Dr. Schaefer has also held the positions of teacher, principal, Assistant Superintendent of Business, and Assistant Superintendent of Personnel. He has served on Kern Schools Federal Credit Union s Board of Directors since During his tenure, he has served on the Personnel Policy, Credit Union Services Organizations and Facilities Committees, and currently serves as Director for the Board of Directors. Mr. Joseph Drew, Director Mr. Joseph Drew joined Kern Schools Federal Credit Union s Board of Directors in October 2017, following a distinguished thirty-six (36) year career in the public and private sector. During his professional career, Mr. Drew served as County Administrative Officer for Kern County, Chief Executive Officer for Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority, President of International Trade and Transportation Center in Shafter, California, and Senior Vice President of Real Estate for Tejon Ranch Company. In addition to an illustrious professional career, Mr. Drew also served twenty (20) years in the United States Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel, and earning multiple awards including, but not limited to, two (2) Purple Hearts, three (3) Bronze Stars, The Meritorious Service Medal, as well as two (2) Distinguished Flying Crosses. Prior to serving on Kern Schools Federal Credit Union s Board of Directors, Mr. Drew was Chairman of the Supervisory Committee. As part of his community involvement, Mr. Drew has served as a Board Member for California State University Bakersfield s Kegley Institute of Ethics, California Building Industry Association, as well as Children s Advocates Resource Endowment, member of the Urban Land Institute, and with Governor Pete Wilson as Co-Chairperson of the Southern California Leadership Council.
