1 The newly-redevelped event sanctining prtal is currently in a pre-release phase. When develpment has cmpleted in January 2019, this dcument will be updated t reflect the new prtal. Online Sanctins fr Cntest Directrs SECTION 1: CREATING SANCTIONS Please read the instructins at the tp f each page carefully, it is page specific and will help yu fill ut the sanctin crrectly. The nline sanctins ask fr the same infrmatin as the paper applicatin, althugh it may nt appear in the same rder. Under the Members Only sectin f the AMA Website, click n?cntest Directr Only? The AMA Cntest Directr Prtal header will be at the tp f every page. Click n CD Hme at any time t return t the AMA Cntest Directr Prtal hme page Click Next at the bttm f each page when yu are ready t cntinue Click Prev(Previus) at the bttm f each page t g back t the page yu were just n T create a sanctin, click n Create Sanctin at the tp f the hme page: The Create link will start a new applicatin t fill ut yur event infrmatin, the type f events taking place, and als the ptins t purchase advertising r additinal insurance 1-Event Inf: Applicatin fr Event Sanctin Event Name: this is a mandatry field Spnsr Infrmatin: Yu can add spnsrs by entering a Club Number and Club Name, r by Organizatin Name, then click n the Add buttn Entering Club Number and Name, will search fr any existing clubs that matches the infrmatin that was entered Chse the Event Class (Rule r Nn-Rule Bk)- This is als a mandatry field Class types (Rule Bk Events): Class A- Unrestricted entry t AMA members that cntains at least 1 rule-bk event Class AA- Unrestricted entry t AMA members and prvides at least 4 sets f imprtant awards thrugh 2 r mre places and cntains at least 2 events Class AAA- State r reginal champinships/ unrestricted entry t AMA members and prvides at least 12 sets f awards thrugh 3 r mre places and cntains at least 3 events Class AAAA- Natinal champinship/ unrestricted entry t AMA members, designated fr a cntest within its primary area f activity n a nce-per-year basis. -This status may nly be granted by Executive Cuncil actin Class B- Entry is restricted t members f a club, rganizatin affiliated with the AMA, r t residents f a cnfined area (such as city r cunty) FAI Team Selectin Event- Cntests fr the specific purpse f qualifying participants fr AMA fficial teams t Wrld Champinships FAI Wrld Recrd Attempt (individual r team)- Cmpetitin cnducted slely fr the purpse f prviding pprtunity fr attempts t establish r surpass existing fficial FAI Wrld recrds AMA Natinal Recrd Trial- Cmpetitin cnducted slely fr the purpse f prviding pprtunity fr attempts t establish r surpass existing fficial mdel aircraft recrds with n awards prvided Class types (Nn-Rule Events): Class C- Unrestricted entry t AMA members that may r may nt ffer awards and may r may nt ffer a frmal flying cmpetitin Class C Restricted- Entry is restricted t members f a club, rganizatin affiliated with the AMA, r t residents f a cnfined area (such as city r cunty)/ may r may nt ffers awards and/r a frmal flying cmpetitin Class D Demnstratins- Flight activity perfrmed by a small grup f fliers befre a crwd f spectatrs fr the purpse f instructin and/r publicity Full descriptins f each class can be fund in the Membership Manual 1

2 1-Event Inf: (cntinued) City:, State:, and Zip Cde: mandatry fields Site Infrmatin: Site Name: The name f the site where the event is taking place mandatry field GPS Infrmatin: GPS crdinates are ptinal, but it gives yu the ptin t put in the lngitude and latitude f the event It can als be switched between Degrees, Minutes, Secnds and Decimals Date Infrmatin: First Chice: Chse a preferred Start and End Date fr the event mandatry field Secnd Chice: Chse a secndary date (must differ frm the first chice), in case there is an existing event cnflict with the first chice ptinal field Leave the End Date blank fr a ne day event Select the number f prizes (if any) frm the drpdwn list: 1, 2, r 3 prizes may be chsen Depending n what class f event is selected, there might be mre ptins t fill ut: Alternate CD (r tw) Rule Deviatins Restrictins 1-Event Inf (cntinued): Cmpetitin Regulatins Events Chse the main event r events categries fr the event Mre than ne event may be chsen by hlding dwn the CTRL key n the keybard while yu click n the different events After yu have chsen yur event r events, click n Pick Events (abve the Prev/Next buttns)t chse sub-categries The Pick Events page Check the main event sub-categries Als check t indicate whether it is Yuth-Junir, Yuth-Senir, r Adult classificatin, r a cmbinatin f the three 2-Select Crdinatr: District Cntest Crdinatr Chse a crdinatr frm the list shwn Chse a crdinatr whse area f interest best matches yur event 3-Custmize Listing: Custmize the Event Listing As part f yur event an event listing will appear in the event calendar n the AMA website. This listing is free and autmatic as part f yur sanctined event. Please cmplete the infrmatin exactly as yu wish it t appear. Pick an event categry: Use the drpdwn list t chse an event categry The Date(s), City, State, Class, Event Name, Site, Cntest Directr, Phne, , and Spnsr will already be listed Yu can check the bx t make the phne number r address public Website: Add a Website address t the listing Ad Descriptin: Enter up t 255 characters f infrmatin fr the Ad 3-Custmize Listing: (cntinued) Event Publicatin Infrmatin: As part f yur event, an event listing will appear in bth the Cntest Calendar sectin in Mdel Aviatin magazine and n the AMA web site. This listing is free and autmatic as part f yur sanctined event. Nne is the default selectin, s click Next if nt interested in supplemental ad, r 2

3 Select Ad Duratin: Select 1 Mnth, 2 Mnth, r 3 Mnth frm the drpdwn list Select A Size: click n size1 r size2 depending n which size f ad yu want Size1 is 1 ⅝ x 2 ¼ Size2 is 1 ⅝ x 1 ½ 4-Additinal Insurance: Purchase Additinal Insurance Yu can chse t add additinal insurance by clicking the buttn Add Additinal and filling in the crrect infrmatin like Site Type, Name f Additinal Insured, Mailing Address f Insured Party, r add padding at the beginning r end if yu need extended time t setup r tear dwn yur equipment Click Cancel r Save g back r t add the entered infrmatin Or, yu can click Next t skip this step 5-Finish Checkut: Finish Checkut Fees Summary breaks dwn all f the individual csts fr the sanctin listing and gives a Ttal Fee amunt Cardhlder Infrmatin: Make sure the infrmatin entered here matches what is n yur credit card accunt Cardhlder s Name:, Address Line 1:, City, State, Zip:, and Phne: are mandatry fields Address Line 2: is an ptinal field Payment Methd: Visa r MasterCard Card #:, Expiratin Date:, and CVV2 Cde :are all mandatry fields Click the Submit buttn when all f the infrmatin is entered crrectly t prcess the payment Or, click n the PayPal click here t pay buttn t pay using yur PayPal accunt There will be a Thank Yu screen after yur payment is submitted prperly: An will then be sent the the Cntest Crdinatr Yur Order Number and Order Date will als be listed n this final page SECTION 2: RENEWING SANCTIONS Under the Members Only sectin f the AMA Website, click n?cntest Directr Only? The AMA Cntest Directr Prtal header will be at the tp f every page. Click n CD Hme at any time t return t the AMA Cntest Directr Prtal hme page T renew a sanctin, click n Renew Sanctin at the tp f the hme page: The Renew link will prvide a list f previus sanctins issued t yurself r yur club(s) and will fill in much f the data n yur applicatin. The list shwn n the next page are the sanctins yu, r yur club(s), have cmpleted in the last three years. Scrll dwn t find yur sanctin in the list, and click the renew link n the left. 3

4 This will take yu t the Applicatin fr Event Sanctin The same pages that are in the Create Sanctin sectin Mst f the infrmatin frm the previus sanctin will be filled in fr yu Make any changes that are necessary, then click Next n each page Cmplete the applicatin using the same steps that are used in the Create Sanctin prcess See the Creating Sanctins fr CDs fr help n this Zip cde and Date Infrmatin will have t be re-entered Chse a Cntest Crdinatr and whether r nt t have an ad Checkut using the prper infrmatin SECTION 3: VIEWING SANCTIONS Under the Members Only sectin f the AMA Website, click n?cntest Directr Only? The AMA Cntest Directr Prtal header will be at the tp f every page. Click n CD Hme at any time t return t the AMA Cntest Directr Prtal hme page T view a sanctin, click n View Sanctins at the tp f the hme page: The View link will shw yu a list f sanctin applicatins that yu have entered nline, and shws the status f each ne. Yu may als add insurance r advertising t a previusly submitted applicatin On the next page, a list f sanctins is shwn. Click the Cntinue buttn t finish a sanctin that was previusly started Click the Already Submitted link t view the details f a finished applicatin This is what they will lk like: Cntinue buttn: Takes yu back t the un-submitted sanctin where yu can make changes, updates, and then submit it. Already Submitted: Brings up a page abut the selected sanctin. Nthing can be changed here, it is just fr viewing details abut the sanctin that is already submitted The Event Name, City, State, and Event Dates are listed, but cannt be changed here The Submissin Status shws the current status f the sanctin Created, Card Charged, Sanctin Apprved, r Sanctin Denied 4
