Last edited Purpse: T create a cntinuus and grwing bdy f Gshen Staff Alumni Assciatin (GSAA) members that can prvide prgram, financial, and facility supprt t Gshen Scut Reservatin and its staff. Definitin and Benefits f Membership Definitin Must be a registered Scuter t participate in rganized events r serve n Executive Bard (events such as Family Camp and Service Weekend) Membership will cnsist f 2 categries Alumni membership This will be the primary membership base. Alumni members will be fully vested members with vting privileges. D nt have t be a registered Scuter t be a member $25 annual dues is all that is required t be a member f the GSAA Executive Bard can decline r revke membership. Friends and Family membership Will nt be full members and will nt have vting privileges Dues fr this categry will be $20 annually Executive Bard can decline r revke membership. Current NCAC emplyees wh are Alumni will als need t pay the annual $25 fee t be registered members GSAA Executive Bard can decline r revke membership Benefits All members will receive an Annual newsletter (detailed belw under Cmmunicatins) Alumni will receive 1 time NCAC Gshen Staff Alumni CSP mailed ut with first dues payment mre can be purchased by Alumni members nly If in ne fiscal year any member dnates $500 r $1,000 t Gshen Staff Alumni r schlarship fund (detailed belw under Awards) but nt part f any ther campaign r recgnitin that Alumni will receive an additinal CSP with silver r gld barder respectfully Current staff will receive a discunt fr themselves and immediate family t participate in Family Camp awards banquet. Discunt will be determined by the finance and events cmmittee prir t the event Executive Bard The Executive Bard will cnsist f an dd number f members. The alumni part f the Executive Bard will be selected frm the alumni membership thrugh an electin. In the event f a tie, the tie breaker will be a cin tss and is the respnsibility f the sitting Executive Bard. The tie breaker must be cnducted within 2 weeks f the electin The Cuncil Advisr will make up the last spt f the Executive Bard The Cuncil Advisr will be either the Gshen Directr, r an NCAC emplyee wh is als an Alumni as a secndary ptin. NCAC will have final say n the appintment f the Adviser The Executive Bard will meet via telecnference r nline vide cnference.

2 The Executive Bard may meet in persn nly if all bard members agree t meet in persn. The Executive Bard will be set up as a Cuncil Cmmittee with a restricted cst center(s) A bard member term will be fr three (3) years. If a vacancy pens up during a three (3) year tenure, the Executive Bard selecting an eligible member t finish ut the remainder r the term will fill the pening. Cmmittees The GSAA will have 3 cmmittees that will reprt t The Executive Bard Finance Cmmittee Events Cmmittee Membership Cmmittee Each cmmittee will have a chairpersn versee the cmmittee. Chairpersn duties Oversees cmmittee members and peratins Ensures all Cmmittees have a Chair and hlds that persn accuntable Manages Meetings Apprves final expenses Finance Cmmittee Manage the budget and reprt t Executive Bard at meetings and whenever needed Ensures all funds being spent supprt the fllwing areas Prgram Facilities Staff Supprt f staff can include imprving their quality f life while n staff Capital Campaigns/Endwment Cmmittee will seek avenues t help with ther NCAC campaigns Awards These awards are fr Alumni nly. Hnrees will be asked t ask their friends and families t dnate t the GSAA in hnr f them receiving the award GSAA awards will be separate frm already established NCAC awards. Awards Dinner/Scial Event will take place Saturday Lunch r Dinner at Family Camp fr an Additinal $10 per persn t cver fd and awards. Additinal funds will be put twards GSAA cst center(s). Gshen Staff Hall f Fame Three (3) Alumni will be recgnized each year. Each camp must have at least ne hnree recgnized every three (3) years Hnrees must have wrked n staff. Criteria may include accmplishments fr Gshen Scut Reservatin since having wrked n staff Gshen Family f the Year Eligible t any family that had multiple members wrk n staff This wuld include an fficial relatinship such as Parent/Child, brthers, married cuple, uncle/niece, etc. Staff Cllege Schlarship Prgram (this is dne by Philmnt as well) Implementatin f schlarship prgram will begin nce GSAA has been active fr 3 years and has becme a financial supprter f Gshen Scut Reservatin. The Schlarship will be awarded when funds permit. Schlarships will be awarded t current staff members entering cllege.

3 Excess funds frm GSAA events will be earmarked fr this fund with the gal f having a cst center set up that members may cntribute directly twards. Events Cmmittee Will be cmprised f 6 peple with all camps having representatin n this cmmittee thrugh a current r frmer camp staff member Crdinates all GSAA events Service Weekends Annual Service Weekend at Gshen. Try t wrk in cnjunctin with ther NCAC service rganizatins Cmmittee will crdinate with current staff t identify prjects that need t be dne and determine resurces needed t cmplete the prjects Family Camp Saturday Night Fr additinal $10 Alumni and their families can participate in an Awards Dinner recgnizing this year s Alumni Hall f Fame and Family f the Year (see details under awards and finance) This will be recrded and linked t the website. It is likely many hnrees will be unable t attend. Awards will be shipped t hnrees. The gal here is mre fundraising and recgnitin than attendance. GSAA members are respnsible fr dinner and will nt be expected t be additinal wrk fr Family Camp staff Membership Cmmittee Respnsibilities include: Recruitment Member Satisfactin Member cmmunicatin Newsletter Newsletter will be published at least nce per calendar year Frequency and cntent can be expanded based upn the success and business f the GSAA Prmtes current happenings at Gshen such as capital investments, directrs, summary f awards given and ther GSAA prjects. The required annual newsletter must be published by the end f every calendar year. Website Website will be n under cuncil cmmittees. Sme pages shuld be passwrd prtected. Cmmittee is respnsible fr keeping the GSAA Webpage up t date. Pages will include individual sectins fr: Register and pay t be a member bth as an Alumni and Friends and Family. Registratin as an Alumni must include space fr members fr members t places psitin(s), camp(s), and year(s) wrked. They may be recruited t serve specific functins fr shrt r lng term cmmittees and prjects Subcmmittees The Executive Bard, at the request f a cmmittee, may establish temprary and permanent subcmmittees All subcmmittees must have respnsibilities and functins utlined by the verseeing cmmittee and submitted t the Executive Bard when a subcmmittee is requested Cst Centers Shuld be set up as restricted funds t nly be used fr the supprt f Gshen Scut Reservatin, t include its facilities, prgram, and staff Cnsider a separate cst center fr Schlarship prgrams Amendments t Bylaws
