Members wh had a debit card with BenefitWallet will receive a new card they will need t activate. Members will receive the card in the mail, in an unmarked envelpe. Further and CareFirst will wrk with the previus vendr t get funds transferred. Starting April 1, 2018, members will be able t access their accunt by lgging int My Accunt and single signing n t the CareFirst-branded Further site. During this transitin, members will nt be able t access their funds frm March 22 - March 31, 2018, but they can submit claims fr reimbursement f eligible expenses incurred in that timeframe starting April 1, 2018 (see belw fr mre infrmatin abut the reimbursement prcess). Are there fees assciated with the Further HRA? The BlueFund fee structure will nt change fr accunts administered by Further. 1
2 HSA Overview What actins d HSA members need t take? First, members need t cnfirm with their emplyer that administratin f their accunt is transferring t Further. If nt, they will nt need t cmplete the transfer frm (see next bullet). Members wh elect t transfer their HSA accunt frm BenefitWallet t Further can chse ne f tw ptins t transfer their accunts and have their funds available by April 10: Online T transfer existing HSA accunts t Further, visit by March 20, 2018 t cmplete the HSA Transfer frm electrnically. Mail T transfer existing HSA accunts t Further, cmplete and mail HSA transfer frm by March 20, 2018 (attached see frm fr additinal mailing instructins). Members will nt have access t their funds frm March 28 thrugh April 9. Members shuld discard their BenefitWallet debit card after their funds have been transferred. Beginning n April 10, members will be able t prcess reimbursements fr eligible expenses. All HSA members will receive a new CareFirst-branded debit card in March fr use starting April 10, whether funds are transferred frm BenefitWallet r nt. Please nte: the debit card may nt have any available funds until the balance transfer is cmplete; if the accunt is being pened fr the first time; r cntributins have nt yet been prvided fr the mnth. What if an HSA member des nt transfer their accunt frm BenefitWallet? On April 1, 2018, a new HSA accunt will be pened at Further fr members. Members can cntinue t maintain their existing BenefitWallet accunts, but they will wrk directly with BenefitWallet. On April 1, members will n lnger be able t manage their BenefitWallet accunt thrugh My Accunt, hwever they can access their accunt at mybenefitwallet.cm. BenefitWallet will mail members a new card and, after March 21, CareFirst will discntinue sending any claims infrmatin t BenefitWallet. Additinally, members will be respnsible fr the mnthly maintenance fees charged by BenefitWallet t keep their BenefitWallet accunt pen. What if an HSA member did nt cmplete the set-up f the HSA previusly with Benefit Wallet? Further will autmatically pen an accunt fr them. The accunt will clse after 90 days if n cntributins have been applied t the accunt. 2
3 What cmpany des Further partner with fr investments? Further partners with Devenir LLC, a registered investment advisr. When HSA base balances reach $1,000, members are eligible t pen a self-directed Investment Accunt which gives them access t a variety f mutual funds frm Schwab s Mutual Fund OneSurce Service. All funds are still part f the HSA; members can view the ttal balance, including mnies in their Schwab accunt, at any time by lgging n t My Accunt. There is an additinal annual fee fr an investment accunt. When HSA balances exceed $10,000, members can activate a self-directed Brkerage Investment Accunt with Charles Schwab. This accunt, als a part f the HSA, gives members access t mre than 2,500 mutual funds frm a variety f fund families, as well as stcks, bnds and ther investments. A self-directed Brkerage Accunt may be a gd fit fr HSA accunt hlders seeking a wider range f investment ptins and wh have the experience and time t manage their wn investments. Schwab trading fees vary depending n the investments selected. Blue Rewards Overview What is the impact t members wh earned a Blue Rewards incentive? If they haven t already, members wh have earned a Blue Rewards incentive card, and have a current balance, will receive a new CareFirst-branded incentive card in the next cuple f weeks. The new card will arrive in the mail in an unmarked envelpe and it must be activated. Members shuld destry any ld incentive card(s) and begin using the new card n April 1, Members will nt have access t their incentive card funds frm March 22- March 31 but can submit claims fr reimbursement f eligible expenses incurred during their benefit perid. T review details abut their incentive card, including their accunt balance, members can lg in t My Accunt at Members can use the incentive card fr cvered health care expenses incurred befre the end f their benefit perid. Fr Blue Rewards, hw d members submit an eligible expense fr reimbursement? Members can use the incentive card t pay fr eligible expenses (cpays, cinsurance) at the dctr s ffice, urgent care center and ther prviders.
