He also regularly advises on professional negligence claims, particularly in relation to claims against solicitors, accountants and tax consultants in relation to negligent conveyancing and tax advice. Christopher regularly advises in cases involving the division of assets between cohabitees, disputed wills and the administration of estates. In addition his practice includes disputes involving: claims under the Inheritance Act 1975; Co-ownership and trusts of land and applications under the Variation of Trusts Act 1958 to name a few. Christopher is particularly adept on trusts issues. His practice includes probate matters both contentious and non-contentious, landlord and tenant disputes and property litigation. His expertise includes wills and probate, commercial / contractual disputes; banking and financial services; company and partnership disputes; and real property and trusts. In the last year he has appeared twice successfully in the Court of Appeal and has acted as sole counsel in a number of reported High Court trials including three Inheritance Act claims acting for both claimants and defendants. Before becoming a barrister, Charlie spent 13 years working in investment banking. He was a director of ABN Amro s European equities division and prior to that worked at JP Morgan. Oliver has a commercial and chancery practice with particular interests in contentious and non-contentious probate. He is regularly instructed in a variety of contentious and non-contentious probate matters and is a student member of STEP and ACTAPS giving regular talks in the subject area. Oliver has appeared successfully for the claimant in the first reported case to consider s. 67 Adoption and Children Act 2002 and the construction of a will Hardy v Hardy [2013] EWHC 83 Ch, [2013] All ER (D) 214 (Jan). His other contentious probate experience includes: appearing on behalf of the claimant successfully challenging a will on the grounds of testamentary capacity; advising and appearing at mediation on behalf of a defendant executrix in a claim for an account and her removal. His non-contentious experience includes advising on the construction of wills and the property administration of estates and appearing before the Probate Registrar in applications under the Non-Contentious Probate Rules He also advises and appears in trusts matters, including recently advising on the administration of an employee benefit trust. Vlad Macdonald-Munteanu, Solicitor, Hugh James Vlad is a solicitor in the Hugh James top ranked (Legal ) Contested Wills, Trusts and Estates team. He acts for individuals, high street banks, trust companies and professionals in relation to all manner of contested will, trust and estates disputes and has successful appeared both in the High Court and County Court. Vlad s particular areas of expertise are: Challenges to the validity of wills Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 Proprietary estoppel and other equitable claims, to include resulting and constructive trust claims Construction, rectification and revocation claims Executor disputes Probate Registry practice and procedure, including summonses, citations and the Non Contentious Probate Rules 1987
