1 THE CCMA GUIDELINES ON ARBITRATION IN MISCONDUCT DISMISSALS 1 JUNE 2012 The Professional Development Project of the Faculty of Law, UCT is pleased to present a seminar on the CMMA guidelines on arbitration in dismissal matters. About the seminar This seminar will deal with the CCMA guidelines which became effective from the beginning of this year for arbitrations in misconduct dismissals. The guidelines clarify the Code of Good Conduct: Dismissal in many ways and serve a function beyond getting consistency from arbitrators - they provide an excellent checklist for lawyers / HR practitioners in preparing for arbitration. Who should attend? Anyone involved in Human Resources - HR Directors; HR Managers and HR staff as well as company law advisors and managers who may be called upon to deal with any employment law issues, attorneys, advocates and arbitrators in labour matters. Course presenters Craig Bosch has a BA LLB from the University of Stellenbosch and an LLM from the University of Cape Town. He has been a senior lecturer in Labour Law at the University of the Western Cape since Prior to that, he lectured at the University of Cape Town. He has published articles and presented conference papers on various labour law issues and is a co-author of Business Transfers and Employment Rights in South Africa and of Labour Relations Law. Craig is a part-time senior commissioner at the CCMA and serves as a member of the dispute resolution panels of the Clothing Industry Bargaining Council: Western Cape Chamber and the South African Local Government Bargaining Council.
