11 The Securities Market The Russian securities market has undergone drastic changes the past years. Micex and RTS merged into one stock exchange Moscow Exchange. The National Settlement Depository (NSD) was created by merger of Depository Clearing Company and National Depository Centre. Nominee recognition by law although not in practice by the market participants so far*. CCP clearing at Moscow Exchange was introduced in 2012 *The mandatory disclosure requirement of beneficial shareholders within 3 working days restricts the nominee account structure set up to global investors at this stage. 11
