2 MARKET COMMENT Market watch On HOSE, VN-Index declined.33 point (-.7%) to 5.34 points in the opening with 1.2 million units matched, valued at VND13.95 billion. In the continuous order-matching, trading activities happened very slowly as most of the leading codes moved sideways or dropped slightly. Meanwhile, the pillared stocks on HOSE i.e. GAS, VNM, MSN and BVH also fell below the reference price; this fact dragged VN-Index below the 5-point level. Ending the morning, VN-Index lost 1.4 point (-.28%) to points. In the afternoon, VN-Index continued to decline deeper due to the decrease of most of VN3 stocks, excluding GMD and STB. Selling-pressure tended to increase stronger in the end-session; therefore, VN-Index quickly lost the 497-point level. Closing the market VN-Index dropped 5.86 points (-1.17%) to points. Total matching volume on HOSE reached 66.5 million units, valued at VND1,133 billion; in which the put-through trading was 2.94 million units, equal to VND23 billion. There were 142 decreased codes, while the number of increased and unchanged stocks was 75 and 59. ITA and FLC had the largest matching volume on HOSE with 3.83 and 3.66 million units, respectively. On HNX, HNX-Index also slumped.43 point (-.7%) to 6.73 points with 28.9 million units, worth VND25 billion. BVS rose VND2 to VND1,4, while other pillared stocks on HNX declined slightly or stayed at the reference price. Some codes still increased slightly i.e. AAA, PVC and PLC. Foreign investors bought strongly 5, units SHB code. The stocks with the largest matching volume on HNX included VCG (2.8 million units), SCR (2.6 million units) and SHB (2.16 million units). Foreign investors were net buyers with VND23.2 billion on HOSE and VND7.36 billion on HNX. UPCoM-Index lost.6 point (-.15%) to 4.67 points. Market Commentary Stock market prolonged the correction session of previous day with significant decline in point today. Number of the losers seemed to be dominant the bourse during the trading session and mostly focused on evenly all codes; but the supportive force was modest too when those losers were demanded strongly at low price, which made the substantial increase in market liquidity for the so-called prudent trading session. Foreign investors seemed to ignore the effects from U.S. trouble when still showed the intensive buying activities in Vietnam stock market as lasting net-buying day since the beginning of this month. Such the optimism from this sector may be a good point for recovering the decline soon, especially in the circumstance of hiking liquidity and the prospect of improved business result of Quarter 3.

3 Technical analysis VN-Index continued going and created a long-body red candle in the chart; which proved that sellingpressure occurred more powerful. However, the matching volume still maintained at high level with 63.5 million units traded; this fact showed that the money flow was still into the market. Although MACD declined to 4.3 but this indicator still moved above its average line. Therefore, the upward trend in medium-term continued to be consolidated. The support-level for VN-Index in short-term will be at the 489-point level, equal to MA(2). If VN- Index declines below this level, the upward trend in short-term will end. Thus, the speculators can still accumulate more stocks if VN-Index stays above this level. 4 Vietnam Sacombank Jan-Sept Pretax Profit Estimated at VND2.1T: SSI Research Sai Gon Thuong Tin Joint Stock Commercial Bank (Sacombank), the ninth largest bank in Vietnam by assets, made an estimated pretax profit of VND2.1 trillion ($99.5 million) in the first nine months of this year, finishing 77% of its 213 target, Saigon Securities Incorporation (SSI) Research said. Total outstanding loans of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange-listed lender may rise 13% from the beginning of this year, while total deposits grew 17%, according to SSI Research. The bank is considering selling a part of its nonperforming loans to the central bank-run Vietnam Asset Management Company though its bad debt ratio increased to 2.23% at the end of September from 1.97% at end-212, below the 3% cap. Revenue may have risen 12.5% on year to VND1.53 trillion during the period, according to local newswire Cafef.vn. The foreign room of 49% for BMP stock was fulfilled as of Oct 1. (cafef.vn) Vietnam Realty Firm NBB to Float 17.8M Shares on HOSE NBB Investment Corporation (NBB) has received approval from the Hochiminh Stock Exchange (HOSE) to list million shares on the bourse. The volume, earlier sold to existing shareholders and partners, will be tradable on Oct 21, the bourse said on its website. NBB stock was 2.2% to VND13,3 a share at Thursday beak time. (hsx.vn Oct 9) Vietnam Builder SD6 Finishes 89% of 213 Profit Target in Nine Months Song Da No 6 JSC (SD6), a subsidiary of Song Da Corporation, made a net profit of VND36.9 billion ($1.75 million) in Economic and corporate highlights the first nine months of this year, meeting 89% of its yearly target. Nine-month revenue was VND billion, fulfilling 79% of the company s yearly plan, SD6 said in a statement sent to the Hanoi bourse. The construction company expects its profit and revenue to reach VND45.79 billion and VND1.12 trillion, surpassing its yearly targets by 8% and 5%, respectively. Revenue rose 19% to VND1.12 trillion, the company said in a statement on its website. The company plans to pay an interim dividend of VND1, a share this month. SPM, listed on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, made an audited net profit of VND18.67 billion ($885,) on revenue of VND2.25 billion in H1, 57% and 1% on year, respectively. Khai Hung Company last month also bought a 51% stake of the cement producer from Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation (VCG), or Vinaconex. (hnx.vn Oct 9) Vietnam Jewelry Maker PNJ Plans to Issue 3.6M ESOP Shares Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ), listed on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, plans to sell 3.6 million shares to its staff. The shares will be sold at VND1, each at a 4.99-for-1 ratio, the company said in a statement sent to the bourse. The stocks of PNJ and Development Investment Construction JS Corporation (DIG) were removed from the basket for the VN3-Index calculation in July. The central bank last month allowed PNJ to import one ton of gold to make jewelries. PNJ shares were flat at VND27,1 at 2:3 pm local time on Oct 1. (hsx.vn ) Vietnam Shares Become Cheaper at end-sept Vs Regional Stocks: Bloomberg Vietnamese shares traded at a price-toearnings (P/E) ratio of times at the end of September, lower than times three months earlier, the Thoi Bao Ngan Hang newspaper reported, citing Bloomberg data. The ratio was lower than times in Malaysia, times in Thailand and times in Philippines. The P/E of large-cap and penny stocks declined from the beginning of this year to the respective and 8.22 at the end of September, indicating an improvement in earnings.
