4 Sample private sector Sampling unit is enterprise. The sample is allocated by firm size and economic activity (NACE 2 digit level). All firms with 500 and more employees are included A sample of 3% of all enterprises results in collection of data on about 50% of all employees in the private sector. (Approx. 1,4 million employees) 4

6 ID-numbers Unique enterprise ID-number Unique personal ID-number Possible to link/connect the data between different registers and survey data (The personal ID-number also make it possible to do gender statistics, since one figure indicate if the person is a woman or a man)
7 National results Main result is average gross salary per month for full-time equivalents from the national yearly survey The results are published in the databases at SCB by a number of (combinations of) variables Sex Region Occupation (429 occupations, SSYK based on ISCO) Age Level and field of education NACE Wage interval (usually monthly salary) Women's salary in % of men's salary 7
8 Cooperation with employers organisations for collection One example: The Swedish Agency for Government Employers a membership organization for Government agencies In support of the central contract negotiations and in the local wage formation process, the parties have joint-wage salary statistics. The collective wage statistics within the state contract area are based on the BESTA classification system.

10 Classification of occupation SSYK SSYK in Sweden is smilar to ISCO international standard - 1-diget level: 10 major groups - 2-diget level: 46 sub-major groups - 3-diget level: 147 occupation groups - 4-diget level: 429 occupations
