1 Secretaries and Assistants Association of Anne Arundel County 2521 Riva Road, Annapolis, Maryland SAAAAC Informs FEBRUARY 2015 President s Letter Board Members Liz Dodson, President Edodson@mseanea.org Edodson@aacps.org, Vice President dschaefer@mseanea.org dschaefer@aacps.org Della Voss, Secretary dvoss@aacps.org Lynne Baughman, Treasurer Lbaughman@aacps.org Michael Burdelas, Director mburdelas@aacps.org Helen Wilkerson, Director hwilkerson@aacps.org Kristie McWilliams, Director klmcwilliams@aacps.org Brenda Weishaar, Director bweishaar@aacps.org Brad Darjean UniServ bdarjean@mseanea.org President Betty Weller Hello everyone, I hope everyone had an enjoyable and restful holiday. The start of the New Year brings with it the start of a General Assembly in Annapolis. If you would like to see what it is all about, your SAAAAC Board would like to invite members to a legislative briefing with TAAAC at Stan and Joes in Annapolis. MSEA will conduct the briefing on new bills that are introduced. This meeting is informal; usually there are handouts and questions are welcomed. After the briefing, we walk up the hill to visit with our Senators and Legislators. Afterwards we can go to the State house and sit in the gallery to watch the proceedings on the floor. All members have received SAAAAC nomination forms. You have a responsibility as a member to put people in office that will be there to work for you and for SAAAAC. Many times there are people nominated who are not dedicated to SAAAAC. We need someone who will attend all training and help SAAAAC become a better organization. Nominating the right person is very important. Just a side note: SAAAAC has many opportunities for training available to us. If you agree to attend training and you do not show, it will be your responsibility to reimburse SAAAAC for any fees charged. Also see the declaration printed on page 3 of this newsletter outlining the SAAAAC policy regarding reimbursement. Thank you, Liz Dodson, President George Cromwell Elementary School President Dennis Van Roekel SAAAAC'S purpose is to finish what we start, achieve our vision, and mobilize our members by understanding our members needs regardless of race, religion or political affiliation ( EMW)
