1 Ministry of Youth Affairs & Skills Development National Youth Corps Vacancies The National Youth Corps hereby calls for Applications for recruitment of posts vacant at its Head Office and Training Centers throughout the island. Permanent posts These posts are permanent. Will be entitled to Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and Employees Trust Fund (ETF) 01. Assistant Director 1. A degree from any university (in any area of study), recognised by the University Grants Commission. 2. Not below the age of 22 and not above the age of 35. Experience Following the Degree, a period of no less than 03 years of experience in a government or recognised private sector institution, in the relevant area of study. Salary scale - MM Rs 25,640-3x665, 7x735,15 x 925- Rs 46, Administrative Officer for Internal applicants 1. No less than five years (05) of service satisfactory service in the Administrative Assistant category Grade 01(Technical/Non- technical). for External applicants 1. A Management Degree from any university recognised by the University Grants Commission, and followed by a minimum of one (01) year s administrative experience. 2. Not below the age of 22, and not above the age of 35. Salary scale - JM A- Rs 20,525-10x365, 18x550- Rs 34, Development Assistant 1. A Science or Arts Degree from any university recognised by the University Grants Commission 2. Not below the age of 22, and not above the age of 35, at the closing date of applications. 1

2 Salary scale - MA3-2006A-Rs 15,600-10x215-4x240-15x320-7x360-Rs 26, Development Assistant (Aesthetics) 1. A Performing Arts Degree from any university recognised by the University Grants Commission 2. Not below the age of 22, and not above the age of 35, at the closing date of applications. Salary scale - MA3-2006A-Rs 15,600-10x215-4x240-15x320-7x360-Rs 26, Tamil Language Translator Passed the GCE (ordinary Level) with 06 subjects, in one sitting with Credit passes in A. i. Sinhala Language/ Tamil Language ii. English Language iii. Mathematics AND iv. One (01)more subject B. Those who have passed the GCE (Ordinary Level) examination in the Sinhala medium, should have a credit pass in the Tamil Language, and those who have passed the GCE (Ordinary Level) examination in the Tamil medium, should have a Credit pass in the Sinhala Language. C. In the GCE (Advanced Level) examination passes in three (03) subjects including Language D. A pass in the second language subject in the GCE (Advanced Level) examination will be considered an additional qualification. E. Not below the age of 18 and not above the age of 45. 3 Posts under Contract For these posts, recruitment will be made for a maximum period under contract of three (03) years and contract can be extended on performance. Whilst not recruited into the permanent cadre, Employees Provident Fund and Employees Trust Fund entitlements benefits will be available. 01. Assistant Director (Provincial) 1. Possessing a General Degree with having served of a minimum of three years of service as a Major in the Sri Lanka Army or an equivalent rank in the SLAF/SLN OR Having served a minimum of 05 years of service as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Sri Lanka Army or an equivalent rank in the SLAF/SLN OR Having completed a service period of 05 years in an all -island service in the recruitment grade OR Possessing a Degree from a recognised university with having completed 05 years of service at a management level in the government or Government Corporation or recognised enterprise. 2. Age at recruitment should not exceed 50 years. Salary scale -Will be entitled to a fixed remuneration of Rs 29, per month. In addition, will be entitled to the cost of living allowances (COL)and if you are a pensioner, will be entitled only to half the COL allowance 02. Officer in Charge 1. Should have passed in at least 06 subjects at the GCE (Ordinary Level) examination 2. Those who have served in the rank of Major in the Sri Lanka Army, or similar rank held in the Armed Forces for a minimum period of 03 years or have duly retired or resigned, will be eligible. 3. Age at recruitment should not exceed 50 years. Salary scale - Will be entitled to a fixed remuneration of Rs 28, per month. In addition, will be entitled to the cost of living allowances (COL)and if you are a pensioner, will be entitled only to half the CO L allowance 3

4 03. Assistant Officer in Charge 1. Should have passed in at least 06 subjects at the GCE(Ordinary Level) examination 2. Those who have served in the rank of Captain in the Sri Lanka Army, or similar rank held in the Armed Forces for a minimum period of 03 years or have duly retired or resigned will be eligible 3. Age at recruitment should not exceed 50 years. Salary scale -Will be entitled to a fixed remuneration of Rs 23, per month.in addition, will be entitled to the cost of living allowances (COL)and if you are a pensioner, will be entitled only to half the COL allowance. 04. Instructor (Drills) 1. Should have passed Grade Have served in a position no less than senior, NCO (Non-Commissioned Officer) rank in the Armed Forces 3. Have successfully completed the Armed Forces Instructor Drill Course or a member of the western Band of the Army, Navy, and Air force 4. Age no more than 50 years at the time of recruitment Note: Those who have completed 12 years of service in the Armed Forces are eligible to apply for this post. Salary scale - Will be entitled to a fixed remuneration of Rs 17, per month.in addition, will be entitled to the cost of living allowances (COL)and if you are a pensioner, will be entitled only to half the COL allowance. 05. Instructor (Information Technology) A. Have Passed the GCE (Ordinary Level) with 06 subjects, in one sitting with Credit passes in i. Sinhala Language/ Tamil Language ii. Mathematics AND iii. Two other subjects B. Have passed 03 subjects in the GCE (Advanced Level), except the General Test. 4

Having followed a Diploma in Information Technology, for no less than one year, in a recognized University or National Education Institution D. 06 months experience in teaching Information Technology in a government or recognized private institution E. Not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years. Note: For those who have obtained a Degree with Information Technology as a subject, A, B, C, D are not required Salary scale - Will be entitled to a fixed remuneration of Rs 17,000 per month. In addition, will be entitled to the cost of living allowances (COL) and if you are a pensioner, you will be entitled only to half the COL allowance. 06. Instructor (English) A. Have Passed the GCE (Ordinary Level) with 06 subjects, in one sitting with Credit passes in i. Sinhala Language/ Tamil Language ii. English Language AND iii. Two other subjects B. Have passed 03 subjects in the GCE (Advanced Level), except the General Test. C. Having followed a Diploma in English Language, for no less than one year, in a recognized University or National Education Institution D. 06 months experience in teaching English Languages a subject in a government or recognized private institution E. Not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years. Note: For those who have obtained a Degree with English as a subject, A, B, C, D are not required Salary scale - Will be entitled to a fixed remuneration of Rs 17,000 per month.
