The Solution 7 RhodeWorks and RIDOT s Asset Management Plan RIDOT codified the Rhodeworks program through establishing a 10- year plan: 10-year TIP is the Department s new standard operating practice; Updated annually to ensure it stays current and data-driven. RIDOT s asset management planning process will help codify the process: Allows RIDOT to assess and forecast the deterioration of our assets; Adopt RhodeWorks as the Federally recognized plan to sustain our surface infrastructure.
The Solution 8 RhodeWorks Forms the Core Will not re-invent the wheel RhodeWorks is the heart of the plan Feds also require sections on Objectives Inventories Risk Investment strategies
The Solution 9 Asset Management Objectives and RhodeWorks are in sync 1. Deliver the Rhode Works initiative to achieve and sustain a state of good repair through an asset management approach; 2. Coordinate within and between divisions to manage assets through their lifecycle; 3. Develop personnel knowledge and skills to support asset management. 4. Develop asset inventories, decision support systems and train personnel to enhance asset management; 5. Continue to promote asset management principles through the RIDOT asset management plan.
The Solution 10 Assets to Be Included National Highway System Bridges and pavements in the official plan due April 30, 2018 Unofficially, without Federal approval, to include Drainage assets Non-NHS pavements and bridges Roadside hardware including signs, signals, guardrail Buildings and facilities Equipment ITS, TMC hardware
Program Readiness 11 RIDOT & Industry Stand Ready to Work Largest ever reorganization of RIDOT is underway New Project Management approach will provide greater accountability ensuring projects are built on time, on budget and to specification Industry has handled surge of construction funding before it s ready, willing and able to get the job done
